IK Multimedia iRig Pads Abandoned?

With the arrival of FAC Drumkit, I felt the urge to pull the iRig Pads off the shelf. I realized that the preset midi scenes weren't giving me any sounds (the Launchpad X works just fine). So I went into the iRig Pads Editor on my Mac, and it won't launch. It needs to be updated; I guess it's 32 bit.

But at this late date after Mac OS Catalina, it's still not updated. I can't save a dedicated scene or assign cc's to any of the encoders or slider.

Is there a workaround for this, other than hunting around for a Mac that hasn't been upgraded to Catalina yet?

Paralells Desktop for Mac allows you to run Windows on your Mac. You could install it or Virtualbox and run the Windows version of the iRig Pads Editor.

  • For such things, I use VMware Fusion which is free for personal use. It can run macOS as a client OS

  • Thank you, hadn’t thought of that.
