Imaginando VS Walkthrough. Giveaway (5 Copies of ANY Imaginando app OR PLUGIN)

Imaginando VS Walkthrough. Giveaway (5 Copies of ANY Imaginando app OR DESKTOP PLUGIN)

Important : VS is on a 50% off intro price til 12th July 2021.

Imaginando have created, with VS (Virtual Synth) a reactive visualisation app specifically designed to be accessible to users from a musical rather than a graphics background. If you understand concepts like envelopes, lfos, modulation, attack, release etc, you will grasp this pretty quickly. That said, the app has a few pitfalls for new users, and this video will provide a thorough walk through the main features of the app which many users will find invaluable. I am using the iOS version here but the tutorial is equally useful for users of the desktop version. The video has timestamps when viewed in youtube. The pinned Youtube comment also contains the details of what you need to do to have a chance to win in the insanely generous giveaway - win 1 of 5 free copies of ANY Imaginando plugin/app for desktop or iOS. This video was sponsored by Imaginando, but a Gavinski vid is a Gavinski vid, and as usual I do not shy from my responsibility to my viewers to give a fair, honest and useful review, chock full of enthusiasm for the good stuff, as well as suggestions for improvement. I also point out an important difference (at least in the release version, this wil hopefully change) between the iOS and desktop versions that it is important to be aware of. If you find this video useful, don't forget to thank me with a ThumbsUp and - most important - do yourself a favour by subscribing and hitting the notification bell so as not to miss out on future deep dive reviews on new music making app releases, as well as insane giveaways. Shout out to devs: reach out to me if you are interested in me doing a sponsored vid on one of your apps. Going forward, the chances of me doing non-sponsored deep dives on complex apps will be slim. Too many apps, not enough time. 🙏

Note for you Perplex On fans out there - he made the factory presets for this app.🙏

  • What are the iPad requirements for this ?

  • All deets are there on the App Store Paul 🙏

  • Quick check shows: 12.1 or later

  • I'm looking soo forward to this. There is no question that I'm buying this, I LOVE this idea.

  • Is it AU as not seeing it after downloading?

  • Imaginando and PerplexOn is a win win

  • @Jumpercollins it has to he loaded as an fx! From tje fx slot it visualises the audio that is sent to it. I would strongly encourage anyone interested in it to come in to the premiere live chat, where you can questions the Imaginando guys to your heart's content to make sure whether this is the droid you are looking for or not. Pretty sure you're gonna dig it @iOSTRAKON if you like the Perplexon vibe . Pay attention in the video, folks, to the differences between the iOS release version and the desktop release version. This is a pretty detailed vid and I know the app very well at this point.

  • Good, I have a new track ready for this! Just need the cash to buy it 😂

  • Premiere with live chat with the Imaginando team is starting now, see y’all there 😘

  • @Gavinski thanks for the vid, late to the show today as having my second jab. Will check it out later.

  • @cheers Paul! @Jumpercollins

Premiere over, what's the verdict folks?

  • Well I bought the app so it certainly fitted my needs :)

Now to watch back with the app open

    Cheers

That's the way to do it 👍. Premiere is fun, but too much going on with the live chat to really take things in

  • No beats required! No midi required either, here just using internal lfos and audio modulation on some BeatCutter / Pipa goodness

  • If they do add the ability to use custom shaders / video / images on layers then this will be what I want. 50 materials sounds like a lot, but once everyone weeds out the less useful ones I'm afraid we're going to see a whole lot of videos that look very similar. I'm hoping to win this one , but if not I may get it anyway because I believe Imaginando will make it even better given time.

  • How do I set VS up to respond to audio? Been playing with it some today and so far no luck.

LumaFusion and layers, blending, etc can diversify that quite a bit

  • If you’re using AUM / make sure VS is in the FX slot

Yes, using AUM. I do have it loaded in an FX slot.

  • What audio are you running into it?

Finally got results. Will carry on. Thanks.

  • @Gavinski great app great vid. The most memorable part: “Here we have a background video. You can tell it’s a video because it’s moving…”

    ;) <3

  • Nice!

Hahaha. I was just worried ppl might think it was a still image that was being modulated in some way 😂🙏

  • Serious question, what is the point of this app without render?

  • edited June 2021

Use screen recorder but it should be coming

Ask Imaginando. I did try to convince them to delay release until iOS also had pop out. I will be very surprised if they don't add it. In the meantime, it is still a lot of fun to play with, but is basically a toy until it gets pop out function and or other things that will allow it to operate truly full screen.

  • @Gavinski I'm not sure what pop out is and I'm pretty right for things to play with. Without render I don't understand the point. Other than time to learn to use it prior to rendering being available. Agree it is a toy like this, hence why I posted the question here where the team answer questions.

Does it take a particular video format? On desktop, loading mp4 nothing shows up. Yes, the layer is on and the alpha has been twizzled.
