An App I Overlooked (Realbeat)
I wanted to share an older (free) app with you guys that I’d personally overlooked. It’s called Realbeat by a dev named Joerg Piringer (Real Beat is one word instead of two if you try to search for it). It kind of reminds me of Koala or maybe SampleBot but I haven’t gone deep enough to see what all it can do just yet.
The dev has some other really cool apps as well (all new to me) but this one in particular seems to be the most in-depth and also the one I was surprised had flown under the radar. Some of his other apps are extremely clever, original and fun but most are more along the “musical toys” category in my opinion whereas this one seems more useful in the traditional sense. Not a knock on musical toys by the way - I can spend way more time than is probably healthy goofing off with these apps that aren’t really meant to be incorporated into an actual workflow!
I thought at this point in my addiction that I knew about most older apps on iOS worth owning but every time I’ve think that, seems like a pleasant surprise like this turns up! Discovering this dev for the first time was a big surprise!
Anyway, I love finding older gems like this that might not be 100% cutting edge but they all have something unique to bring it seems. This one seeming very ahead of its time to me and I’ve been impressed on how well it’s held up. I did a very quick search on here and only found one topic from roughly 5 years ago, so I’m hoping this will be new to someone else who enjoys this dev’s unique apps.

One of my favorite features on this one is using the text to audio thingie. still fun
Reviving an old thread because I just broke this out for the first time in a while and forgot how fun it is. Just sampled a bunch of different AUs into it and got some pretty cool stuff going. Being able to load it as a destination in AUM/Audiobus opens up a lot of possibilities and the text to speech thing is a lot of fun.
