Scratchy Feedback With IRigMic GB

I’m new to music apps and mixing. I’ve been creating piano and drum tracks and sometimes having my sister add vocals. Lately I’ve been adding more drums using iRig and I started getting scratchy feedback on the tracks. Does anyone think this is from the iRig mic? If so, is there a better option that would still feed into my phone?

  • Good chance it could be from the mic. One thing is to make sure it’s connected all the way into the phone. That said, when I started out, I made sure to do as much as I can using the sounds on the device. Maybe record the drums directly using the Drums section in Garageband, and use the Mic only for vocals.

You can also reduce some of the noise with some EQ. USe the visual equalizer in Garageband combined with an EQ app like LRC5 (which is free).
