Best clean fender Guitar Tone on IOS?
Hello folks.
Just wondering what’s the opinion on what’s best clean guitar tone on iOS? I’m not interested in high gain/distortion. I’m looking for a warm (Chris Isaak) tone.
If anyone has any desktop solutions too I would be interested to hear.
Thanks in advance 🙏

There is a pretty good clean Fender that comes with the free version of Overloud THU. I would start there.
THU also sells "rigs" which are not modelled but sampled like Kempler, some very good Fender amps there, especially the Choptones ones. They cost around £18.
Gain Stage Vintage Clean is also very nice IMO.
Finally DB AudioWare 20th Anniversary also has great clean tones.
The above are all AUV3.
I would avoid BIAS and Amplitube, to my ears they just don't sound as good as the newer apps.
I've made a few quick comparison videos in the past, I'll post them here:
And this one is the same amps as the one above, but this time all going through the same IR cab:
On desktop you should try S-Gear. It responds beautifully to how you play and has some fine amps in it. Rather than copy hardware, they are really amps in their own right but the clean channel of the Wayfarer does a great Fender sound.

The only downside of TH-U is that it's a 1Gb monster for just a clean amp fx. It sounds great though
Thanks guys really appreciate these replies

I think there was a similar thread a few months back, maybe search the forum

There are several TH-U rigs that sound even better than the free Darkface sim. I think the rigs are on sale for another few days. The Bassman and Dang rigs have some great clean profiles (along with crunchy profiles). I know that @JoyceRoadStudios has a few other rigs that he thinks are stellar for twang.
Yeah the rigs in Overloud are the best, but it's definitely a rabbit hole. I have the Fender Super Reverb, the Fender Twin, and the Fender Bassman 50 (all from Choptones) and they're excellent. But to be fair the free Fender Sim you get just from downloading THU is also pretty good, just not quite on a par with the rigs.
I think one can avoid the rabbithole by picking one and stopping. IMO, the difference between the rigs and the free darkface is pretty dramatic particularly if one doesn't already have a good cab IR. The Bassman or Dang is only 12.99 right now. Not sure about the other rigs. The prices go back up to normal in the next few days I believe.
The sushi rig also has great cleans.

I concur
Which THU rigs are on sale? I can't tell when browsing around the app?
@flo26 did a demo of an Amplitube Fender amps and the “57 Custom Deluxe” grabbed my attention. I have a lot of TH-U and Nembrini apps and IAP’s and thought Amplitube was dead to me. But I bought this one Fender clean Amplitube and it’s simply amazing.
Check out @flo26’s demo of the Amplitube Fenders… my favorite starts at the 8:30 mark and the others are also good:
Hello. That is pretty impressive I have to say- incredible what can be achieved on an iPad 😳🙂
Thanks
Need to add the Nembrini Faceman to the list of great clean sounding Fender amps. Now former ABF member Florent Roux (the artist formerly known as Flo26) produced this excellent demo:
Yes to the new Nembrini. Also, the db 20th Anniversary - Guitar Amp sounds very Fendery, especially clean https://apps.apple.com/us/app/20th-anniversary-guitar-amp/id1553090626
Very true. Sadly the 20th has gotten lost in the discussion — with the never-ending new amps and rigs from Nembrini, Overloud and others. Perhaps part of that is due to its rather long unwieldy name. Flying Haggis. Now that was a memorable name! 😊
After buying the THU CHP Fender Twin, Bassman, and Super Reverb, I went back to try the Darkface sim. To be very honest, I might like it best! Of course, having owned a real Deluxe Reverb, my tastes could be tuned to this great amp.
What is it you like about it?
I have a 64 Deluxe without reverb but struggle to find anything that has the sparkle. Tonex is ok but does not really give that nice top end.
IMO, the THU Darkface 65 in Bright mode has nice sparkle.
I thought I had it with TH-U but Florent Roux demo’ed the “Fender Custom Pro ‘57” amp in Amplitube. I wrote Amplitube off years ago but II had this “Aha” moment: “that’s the sound!”
YouTube demo here of Amplitube “Fender Custom Pro 57”
Also his demo of “Tonex Clean Amp” works for in another way:
Tonight I was listening for clean and bright tones among the THU Fenders, and used IRs for cabs. Then trying boost and OD pedal signals to see if the clean handled it well without with unpleasant fizz.
Again, I have to say the Darkface 65 fared very well, and I tried it only on a whim before shutting down. It was only after googling afterwards that I knew it was the Deluxe Reverb.
I suppose that “round” tone always pleased me.
If you own Tonex SE there are literally dozens of great user captures on ToneNet in this realm.
By far my favorite for great tones and ease of use. The name does sound like you’re planning a dinner with your wife, but it’s still Flying Haggis to me.
Just wanted to throw in another option by Julien Faure of Lost in 70s Audio. I only discovered it recently.
It’s an AUv3 Fender amp plugin for iPad, iPhone and Mac and it’s completely free!
I really came to enjoy it. It’s very clean almost a bit bright but in combination with the Nembrini Klon AUv3 just perfect!

Agree.
Amalgam Captures is highly praised capture creator and there are many free captures available from him in Tonex ToneNet.
