How to make an AUv3 Super Synth in Drambo with SynthMaster 2

The more I play with Drambo, the more I love it and wish I had learned more about it years ago.
It's just ridiculous the amount it can do.
In this video, I build a couple of big synths in Drambo with SM2 and also make one using various AUv3 FX on the individual synths in the chain.
Then I make a little sequence and explain that too.
All very Cool Beans.

  • I love your videos, Doug. @thesoundtestroom was the go-to and the anchor when I started getting interested in iOS music making, and you keep bringing more. I vividly remember the sound of Odyssei (too expensive for no AU, but the sound… the sound!!) and Factory (bought it on sight) when you demoed them. Thanks so much.

  • @ahallam Thank you, you made my day😊

It’s great to see more and more content creators diving into Drambo practicalities.
    Thanks!

    Keyboard split, for those interested:

The key module you’ll need is MIDI / processor / Note filter
Drop it in front of your AUv3 and dial in the range
Here Hillman is only playing notes C1-B1

When you drop the second ‘Note filter’ module for the next split, it’ll auto connect to last midi module, which is the first ‘Note filter’ module - meaning, it only receives notes C1-B1, which is not what we want here, so we have to change that.
Tap on ‘midi’ connector icon at the bottom of second ‘Note filter’ module, currently connected to the first ‘Note filter’

and tap track midi, so your second ‘Note filter’ receives all the notes unfiltered

Set your range, add a mixer to sum the outputs of two AUv3 instruments... and you should have a 2 zone split.
Here Hillman is receiving C1-B1 and iSEM is receiving C2-B2.

You can have each note on it’s own zone or they can overlap as well as all kind of unusual splits / intermittent ranges etc.

Yeah, Doug is like a precious diamond in the iOS/iPadOS community!

We have our beloved developers that brings marvelous apps to make music with, but, Doug (and several others) is just as important for the spread of knowledge around this community!!

Also, we have to gratify Michael (Audiobus-guy) that letting his site be “occupied” with all kind of threads - great people!!!

    Love from Sweden!!
