Sample mapping in Beatmaker 3

Apologies if this question has been covered, I didn’t find much searching the forums.

Is it possible to automatically map a folder of samples across the keyboard in BM3? I’ve been wanting to use some of the synths from Samples from Mars now that I’ve returned to using BM3.

Or is it just easier to use AudioLayer instead as I own it as well?

Comments

  • Don't the individual samples from the Samples From Mars packs already have their key and range imbedded in the file?

Here I just dragged each sample from Analog Tape Synths From Mars > Bass Station 1 Poly into BM3's mapping editor screen. The samples appear to be placed in the proper key and key range, and no manual editing is required.

For samples that don't have that info in their metadata, you can use BM3's LEARN button and your MIDI keyboard to quickly map them. Don't forget to select Add to existing layer or Add to new layer in BM3, so you have more control over each layer (group) of samples.

  • Can Synthjacker export out BM3 files?

  • I guess I could have been more clear in my question, I am wondering if BM3 can automap a folder of samples or not. If I have to manually map a sample to each key, then I’d use either AudioLayer or Drambo as a plug-in instead. The BM3 manual doesn’t address this issue, so I’m left assuming at the moment that it’s not something that BM3 has included.

I've just tried auto mapping a folder in BM3 and
I can't see a way to do it from here either.

Thanks! This is exactly what I was looking for, and something the manual doesn’t discuss. Much thanks for your reply! 😀
