Paging @Daveypoo
I'm here, I'm here!
I've been working through some major life changes at home, so I've had to pause the channel for a bit. Likely I'll resume later this year - trying to figure out exactly how I'm going to accommodate YT with everything else I'm juggling.
I SINCERELY appreciate the check-in - I have been fairly quiet lately, but I do still troll the board from time to time I'll have more details for you folks in a few months once things settle down a bit.
I knew you where around because I recall seeing you comment here The most 'recent' I remember being the topics on essence of creativity. But I do miss your videos. Love your personality 🥰
hope everything is changing for better too 👍😎
Cheers, mate!
@senhorlampada I appreciate the support! It's nice to feel missed
Great @Daveypoo ❤️
See you soon, my man @Charlesalbert 😉
In the room women come and go, speaking of Dave @Daveypo.
We love you @Daveypoo
Glad you are fighting the good fight and hope all works out for the best. Respect, sage of the funk.
glad all is well with you!

I hope they're good major life changes Or the potential to be good (I'm remembering the shock I felt upon discovering that my wife was expecting a third child).
Are you still planning on moving to Europe?
Wow, you all know how to make a girl blush!
@LinearLineman If only...
@audiblevideo "Sage of the Funk" - I'll take it!
@gkillmaster I appreciate you rooting for me
@cian Good life changes, thankfully - just taking up 100% of my time. I'll have more details once things are a bit more settled.
Stay gold, @Daveypoo . Stay gold.
@Daveypoo
Damn, just when I had requested my username be changed to Oatypoo. I was even practicing my “if ____, then YOU can call me” lines
Forever gold, baby.
Now's your chance to steal the show!
There are multiple meanings to unpack here. It's a Haiku, right?
The most interesting thing about a mystery is the variety of scenarios your mind generates
to fill the vacuum.
Having had a medical emergency my mind goes there first. My wife is home and making progress towards recovery.
I read your saga on the other "How are you?" thread, but was sidetracked before I could reply. I'm so sorry for all your recent struggles, but I am truly grateful that you both seem to have a light at the end of the tunnel after so long. You're in my thoughts, @McD - you guys hang in there!
Thanks Dave. We're climbing the hill to complete mobility... and also getting strong before
Chemo to address SLL... which is very responsive to chemo treatments. She should drive it into remission with a good, consistent plan of meds.
SLL is defined as the cancer cells mainly in the lymph nodes. The symptoms sound a lot like
Menopause:
Chills
Swollen lymph nodes
Fevers
Night sweats
Shortness of breath
Enlarged spleen causing abdominal pain or fullness
Tiredness
Unexpected weight loss
Enlarged liver
I suspect she's had it working for 10-15 years without diagnosis. Her lymph nodes attached to her gall bladder and the surgeon said it should have come out 6 years ago. Her Family Practice doctor made it pretty clear that he thought she complained a lot but was in perfect health. It's not possible to diagnose using the usual lab tests. You need to be tuned in to "swollen lymph nodes" which were consistently linked to allergies driving immune responses that were treated with the usual allergy meds.
Several lung issues led to a specialist prescribing steroids about 5 years ago which is also an excellent RX for SLL issues. So, she felt pretty good for a couple years... meanwhile
the gall bladder was getting taken out.
This complex of symptoms and the lack of diagnosis might help someone ask the right questions and get to an oncologist sooner rather than later and save a world of headache.
Man - that's awful. I am glad that you seem to have finally gotten a solid diagnosis, however. I have also had multiple people in my immediate family with SERIOUS cancer in the last year, in addition to heart issues, and all sorts of bad news. At the risk of over-simplifying your wife's condition, dealing with ANY medical issue is an enormous trial, never mind the Big C. Add that into the mix and WHAM - it completely consumes everyone's life, and rightly so.
That being said, I'm glad that you have a path forward and seem to be past the roughest patch.
@McD, TS Elliot... The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock... “In the room women come and go, speaking of Michelangelo.” and, indeed, a haiku... I think... but no mention of a season.
Haiku should be 5, 7, 5 and like you say describe a season. Hmm...
Being a musical Dave, I like the thought. I'd never have been much without music
and humor in this life. I like the implication of the "too". Dream on. When it was important
the music and the humor served me well.
Yes, I am still here
It's nice to be remembered
Sorry I've been quiet
