Three part Invention
Could have posted this in the Piano Motifs thread but was so pleased with it I though I would give it an airing by itself. Thanks to @azul3D_Apps for the app, @Edward_Alexander for reminding me how good Geo Tenor Sax was and @McD for pushing the boundaries of what you can do with PM.
Three different parts, one after the other from exactly the same motif created by Piano Motifs.
The first is (mostly) chaos, the second (semi) cool jazz and the third (hardish) rock.
Comments
Ah! The sax part ❤️
Interesting results from the different apps using the same midi.
This is the best long form Piano Motifs project I've seen. When you say there are 3 parts are you describing A, B, C sections in the PM arrangement?
I can't believe the number of Noise and other AUv3 instances you have working at one time which leads me to ask what iPad model and specs are involved. And then you had the resources to use a Geo Shred SWAM instrument over the top. So cool.
Please supply details... I'm eager to upgrade my iPad and get to these levels of resources. It's also useful to see how non-orchestral and piano apps can use used as targets to make music that doesn't sound traditional. Piano Motifs is an amazing generator app that just gets better and better... of course (full disclosure) it's not AUv3 or even IAA but MIDI is still a great tool. The MIDI can be realtime (as it is in this case) or MIDI files that could be loaded into any DAW, or Atom/LK AUv3 instances in a DAW with AUM being the best for this type of app assembly.
Please keep sharing these projects and upload them into the Piano Motifs thread to keep an awareness of this amazing app and it's responsive developer @azul3D_Apps (Fernando Morales). Scanning the 41 pages of this thread will show how many requests and updates have been provided in the 13 month history of the app:

The thread is riddled with tips and examples of the app in use.
Really cool how you were able to get such different styles from the same motif. The sax solo is enthralling.
Sax appeal!
Thanks all for your kind words… I wasn’t 100% happy with the Sax solo but can blame it on 2 or 3 glasses of wine😊
@McD , three parts just refers to the three different styles extracted from the same PM theme.
It was a C minor motif that popped out after a dozen clicks with the settings of Octave Min = 0, Max = 2, Bars = 32, Style = Serendipity. Everything else set to ‘random’ so very simple really.
Then I set Loop Count = 4 in MIDI Out to make it longer and adjusted the octave ranges for individual channels in AUM.
Piano Motifs is my go to app when I want to be pushed into trying something different from an arrangement perspective.
I’m very happy with the new Ipad, not had any DSP based crackling yet but biggest difference for me is having the larger 12.9 size means I can have GeoShred keyboard at 6 strings by 16 frets and it still accommodates my sausage fingers.
Very cool!!!! I agree. @azul3D_Apps gave us a GEM…. Which I am off to tip again. So much can be done with it.
And I think………….OMG!!!!!!! @GeoTony I was scrolled down as typing this and swear that I thought you were playing a real Sax!!!!!!! 😁😂. Great stuff!!!!!!
Excellent! Esp beginning around 4:10. Now load it all into StaffPad!
Praise indeed @onerez . Thanks for listening @LinearLineman . I don’t have StaffPad but out of interest what would it have done for me?
