Awesome.
The sound is amazing.
Wow.
I once heard a recording of a long piece of piano wire strung at high tension between columns at opposite ends of a cathedral and plucked. THAT sound was amazing, it was all transients and harmonics, the fundamental was too low to hear.
I’m sure that it would sound even better in person. What an amazing project to have worked on!
@michael_m ,The guy’s a piano building savant. Started in a neighbor ladiy’s shed and was 19’ cause that’s how long the shed was. His first build from scratch and look what emerged! He learned the physics as he went. Engineering, Welding, grinding winding, carving... everything.
There's also the Klavins pianos: https://www.worldpianonews.com/new-product/acoustic/worlds-largest-upright-piano/
@Stochastically, yes, I’m familiar with the Klavins. What a feeling it must be to climb the stairs to play it. Interestingly, it has only a sustain pedal rather then the usual three. It looks a lot more professionally done than the Alexander, but the builder was already a master and Alexander an inexperienced lad. I also like that the Klavins has no keyboard case, like the upcoming Osmose (maybe).
awesome, what a champ
Hey, I’ve got two Klavins pianos!

Well, almost.
This looks like an iPad Pro from about 6 years in the future (550 inch, the smaller-screen version).
Well, sans the audio crackles.
