Recreating effects from a certain song on your iPad - a Q&A thread!
Hello all,
I thought this might be a fun idea. Sometimes we listen to a bit of a song and wonder how on Earth the artist/band achieved a certain sound. Maybe these can be replicated on the humble iPad with a bit of work! So here's a question and answer thread, where forumites can talk about a certain sound on a certain song, and then others can chime in to say how they think it can be replicated.
Since I made the thread, I volunteer to be first up! In his song Seven Nation Army, Jack White used a 'DigitTech whammy pedal' set down an octave in order to achieve the bass guitar sound, when in fact he was just playing his normal guitar. Does anyone know how I could achieve the same sound on the iPad by using my electric guitar running through iRig HD? There are various amp sims (Bias, Jam-Up, Ampkit, etc) and FX in the iPad's repertoire of apps, so it must be possible!

Great thread idea
As an idea to the guitar to bass, jamup Mutron or import it the part into SampleWiz should work.
Midi Guitar or midimorphasis controlling something like ifretless bass would give bass guitar while using your ax.
I like this thread a lot, too. If you have AmpliTube, you can apply the Octave stomp box effect.
