Best way to duplicate / Save As a BeatMaker 3 session
So I’m trying to Beat Maker again after we’re staying away from iOS for a few years to trying to simplify my music workflow. How do I take an existing session session and duplicate it or save it under another name? And do it in a way where it shows up directly in the Sessions list available to open?
I tried doing something like that this morning and went through a maze of going through the Fies dialogue, then duplicating a session, and then having to navigate through Imports from the main sessions menu. Yuck. Not a good sign of things being simple here.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

There are two save buttons in BM3… in more or less the same place. Sigh.
One gives you a ‘quick save’. The other gives you a ‘save as’ option.
I just threw these together. Hope it doesnt make it more confusing….
This one ‘quick saves’…
Tapping the three lines on the top left (now an x here, sigh) gives you the second save option…

This gives you the save as…
Yah, a little messy.
There’s a ‘save as’ option if you long press the save button. Is that what you’re after?
Woah, good to know!
Thanks so much! Just knowing the long press gesture is an important thing for those controls is the revelation I needed.
No worries. I discovered that by accident last night. My thumb was resting in that corner a bit too long and hey presto! Prior to yesterday I was using the method @AudioGus described
.
Thanks for that gem! A couple times now I have been confused about which ‘save’ I was on and overwrote something I kinda didnt want to lol. Just getting back into the old BM3 after about nine months away. Really digging the ability to split and merge patterns, retaining automation! Whoot!
great seems like it is only for midi though
