Mixy Licks

A jazz rock fusion type thing (it started off with Soft Drummer but he got axed after a while) using ChordJam to play two instances of MoodUnits and a Ravenscroft piano. SnakeBud is playing BeatHawk Bass. StepBud is being used to randomise it all. A Human being is playing (badly) GeoShred lead.

  • A pity about the drummer.
    Couldn't keep time?

    Seriously, sounds really good.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for listening @Gravitas . It’s me that struggles with drums not Soft Drummer. I have a mental (auditory?) block when it comes to working out whether I’m in time with them, they are in time with me etc. Practice, practice , practice!

  • Sounds great Tony. The lead around 4:37 was awesome! Very cool!

Probably tried to steal @GeoTony 's girlfriend. That's what usually happens.

  • Great track @GeoTony. I goes some super interesting places.

  • Thanks @Edward_Alexander and @wim , means a lot when people like you take the time to comment. Wasn’t 100% happy with piece as I was struggling a bit with ChordJam. I discussions with the developers at the moment to find what I was doing wrong!
I am trying to get some sort of unique tone and style on GeoShred which is hard.
One of my long time guitar heroes is Terje Rypdal, a Norwegian guitarist that has a very recognisable tone and style.
Have attached a snippet from Morning Glory by John Surman with TR playing and my favourite album by TR is What Comes After. Both worth checking out.
More recently I have been listening to Nguyen Le, a French / Vietnamese player who manages to combine traditional Vietnamese music with modern jazz and also does crazy covers of things like Dark Side of the Mood, Led Zeppelin and Stevie Wonder… Again a pretty unique tone and style

  • Good stuff. I especially liked the video. Nguyen's tone and style remind me a lot of Jeff Beck.

It's going to be really, really difficult to get tones like that out of GeoShred. It makes great sounds, but nothing that ever comes close to convincing me it's a real guitar.

  • Good mood and some nice Geoshredding.👍🙏
