Gymnasia / Detuned PurePiano + Ravenscroft 275

I got a good result combining these two pianos with PurePiano slightly detuned. BeatHawk Total Bass for the acoustic jazz bass. Headphones on this if you are able.

  • Pleasant to ears. Something between “Bohren and der club of gore” and Chopin’s nocturnes

  • Utterly brilliant composition!

  • @Jack_Wabba, I had never heard Bourne before. But I agree and thanks for the comparison. It’s the hesitation... the reticence.

Thank you @Edward_Alexander, that is too kind.

Yes @LinearLineman, this is great! This interpretation is just as interesting as Satie!

  • Gorgeous sound, beautiful piece

  • Thank you @pbelgium. That’s very high praise, indeed. And thank you @barabajagal, I look forward to your next track to hear what’s next.

  • Great tones and vibe. Got me singing to it.

  • Nicely done @LinearLineman .The 1st gymnopédie from Satié is one of my favorite classical songs.

  • Thank you @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr, if you want to sing in any of my tracks just let me know😘🙏
Good to hear from you @hypnopad abd thanks for listening. I guess Satie was an early minimalist. The simplicity is inspiring.

Yes... this would lend itself to being an accompaniment for a singer coaxing out a melancholy tune (Tori Amos comes to mind). Unfortunately, such artists tend not to hang out here. But one never knows.

As a second choice, I'd love to hear a GeoShredder or MPE soloist lay down something over this as a "backing file". I do love the idea of collective "snowball" creations where we layer on and re-mix each other's special ingredients. There's a complex pallet of spices and herbs in this one. It should inspire someone to take a shot at essaying some human drama over the mix of moody flavors. After all, Satie inspired a massive array of covers from "Blood Sweat and Tears" to my synth/flute-based wedding processional for the bass players wedding.

  • I would love to work with the stems too.

Can't you pull the audio out of the SoundCloud like any self-respecting musical thief?

You could ask the @LinearLineman for the Cubasis project since he's not great at
certain technical aspects of IOS. He has slowly build a very powerful set of IOS skills
but file management is the IOS Achilles heal... and then there's cloud file services dues to
audio file sizes that throw yet another layer of complexity over most collabs.

I hope we hear more passes layering more music over this project.

Doing a screen recording and sucking the audio into Koala Sampler (import from video) is a great way to get a wave file of anything your IOS device will play sound wise. There are also some "Web AU" apps for AUM projects that can play soundcloud projects.

Thank you @McD and @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr . Strangely, I didn’t reply to this almost three years ago! I’ve been relistening to some old stuff and stumbled across this thread. I thought it would be fun to resurrect it. I think I do have the project, still, and would be happy to share it with you.

Is this some type of time travel?
