You play a chord, you hit freeze and the chord will sustain/freeze forever. You then can solo over the chord. I really like to improvise this way.

Some reverb in mirack have the freeze option, but they have 1 problem or the others:

Some don’t sustain for a long time (30sec)
If they sustain for a long time, you cannot play over the freezed chord.

You can freeze the plate reverb in Drambo with additional modules.
Zero Reverb has a 42 sec sustain time

    Reverbs with Freeze buttons.
    Sparkverb
Tonestacks Pro's Big Be Verb DLX
    Bleass Reverb
MiRack's Plate Reverb, Freeverb, Plateau, Twisted MVerb, HiVerb, REI and DissonantVerb

Simply add a cc message or midi note to switch
the freeze on and off when playing guitar.

This thing is much more than a metal machine.

I’d really like to know a bit more on this. All the demos I’ve seen are metal and no offence to anyone into that but I think distorted or metal, heavily overdriven guitar demos are trash really because there is no tone and you can’t tell anything from them.

I had no interest in this amp as I’m really annoying and selective and tone obsessed, and I really like stuff that works well switching between clean with some character and breaking up. I think heavier and lighter tones are pretty easily achieved on anything but this area is what I’m into and get from mostly ‘vintage’ sounding particular amps.

So rhino just came across to me as totally uninteresting initially - I have mammoth and didn’t like that at all and - possibly in my ignorance and comoletely wrongly given ive seen a few comments saying otherwise - felt like rhino was going to be a kind of boutique modern soulless thing that did glassy cleans then just a load of characterless distortion. I don’t ever use distortion because of the lack of tone, but I do love overdrive that. retains tone. Anyway i don’t like any of teh videos just generic distorted sounds could be on a prs an Ibanez a squier an sg all the guitar murdered out of the sound.

Wow. I really don’t mean to be heavy handed in this so apologies if I have been 😂 I’m rubbish at forums. But just to get across my impressions and in case anyone similarly minded can show me my feelings were wrong about this amp and it does have some musicality

Aurora DSP have promoted their apps with a very metal presentation. I keep saying over and over that this is not all Mammoth and Rhino can do. I love clean tones and metal tones and everything in between. You can’t have watched my demos if you’re concerned that metal is all Rhino can do. I’m doing a livestream with it tomorrow where I’m going to create a vicious preset and something quite the opposite. Why not check out my stuff? I’ve posted the links in this thread.

I have and the part with the clean tones was helpful, thanks. The presets tend to mess about with the cleans (ie ambient Etc) so aren’t great for judging it, which is why it was very hard to find anything usable for me in any demo, despite people saying it’s not just a metal amp. My main concern wasn’t so much that but that it would have very modern glassy transparent cleans which I dislike a lot. But it doesn’t.

Anyway it’s all academic as about five seconds after my post the bloody thing was downloading to my iPad…

Haha! That’s awesome! I found that with Mammoth I was able to get clean tones too, but it was more difficult than finding a clean in Rhino. Ok, shower, wash the pots, get ready for live streaming with Rhino again. ✌️
