-=Broken World=- (loss for words)
It’s late… please see video description for track info etc.
I worked on this one for a while tonight.
I changed the discussion title, and removed the reference to my friends passing. I am leaving it at the beginning of the video, as I do want to dedicated the piece to him, but what I do not want, is to be viewed as using my friends death to promote my music. Thank you, and I hope you all understand my reasons.

Oh no!
What can I say - Take care so you don't pick it up.
Sorry to hear that Edward. I wish there were more meaningful things I could say. Thinking of you.
It’s ok guys, I’ve been at a loss for words myself.
It’s been happening all around us for months, but it doesn’t phase us until it hits close to home.
@rs2000 @Svetlovska
That’s sad to hear, it’s good to channel your feelings into something reflective like this.
That’s awful, mate, so sorry for your loss.
Hugely impressed and really loving this track, though. Love the bassline that really drives and glues the track down. Lovely choice of mellow sounds and a really chilled vibe.
Don’t know what else to say but amazing work and a wonderful tribute to your friend. You’ve done well to focus your grief into something constructive and so beautiful.
Blessings 🌼💐🙏
Sorry for your loss. xxx
@Edward_Alexander
Sorry to hear about your loss.
🙏🏾
Man,sorry to hear this.
Maybe it's not the best moment to say this but....life goes on.
I wish you the best.
Take care!
I talk often about the larger impact of the virus, but on a personal level, it’s impact is devastating.
Best wishes and kindest regards to you and everyone affected by the virus.
Thank you so much @Spidericemidas
I decided to change the Discussion Title here on the forums. I’m going to leave the text in the video, as I do still want to honor and dedicate this piece to him, but what I do not want, is to be viewed as using my friends death to promote my music. (Which is kinda funny, because normally I don’t care what people think!)
I hope you all understand!
Like I said last night when I posted, it was late, and my mind was all over the place. Still is, really, this morning. (East coast US)
I’m supposed to go work a double shift today, and I really don’t want to….
Thank you all for your thoughtful and kind comments.
Keep the music going, friend.
A good friend is one of life's greatest treasures. I am sorry to hear that you have lost someone.
I’m trying Mike. Sometimes it’s all I have…
So true!
When you lose a good friend, it’s like part of you dies with them; all the inside jokes and little sayings that were part of your friendship - gone!
Things that no one else will ever know or understand.
You’re not alone in this.
An admirable tribute.
I offer you my condolences.
Sorry for your loss - remember the good times and keep playing.
@pbelgium @rottencat
Thank you guys
Thanks buddy, and I know, the beat goes on. This isn’t the first time for me either. My best friend Darren died back in 2006. Basically drank himself to death (liver). We were band mates and best buds for over 20 years. He’s the one who left me his Les Paul Custom. Darren was 40.
Wayne I had only known for a few years. We weren’t close or anything like that, but he was the kind of friend you’d think of when you thought of who your “good friends” are. Does that make sense?
I met him and his wife Kelly as they were regular patrons of the restaurant I manage. Always the most witty and facetious sense of humor, we quickly became friends and they became regular customers of mine. He was the kind of guy that.. if he wasn’t giving you a hard time, it meant he didn’t like you. He gave everyone a hard time.
We always talked cars (as usually I’ll have the motortrend channel on the tv behind me), We both loved anything automotive. He has a ‘68 Chevy Malibu that I’ve been promising I’d come over and help him install new brake lines on. I’m still going to have to follow through on this come to think of it.. for Kelly.
Wayne was retired U.S. Air Force but he did a lot of other things, like get into real estate. He went way out of his way to help me with some things when I was buying my house, and was actually in the process of helping me get my garage door fixed a couple weeks ago before he got sick.
I’ll share one picture, and this should say a lot.. what kind of couple do you know that still did crossword puzzles together in 2021?
TLDR: Good People gone too soon!
RE: -=Broken World=-
I obviously went with the @echoopera style Drambo w/video overlays and effects vs the glitch/kaleidoscope/VS Visual Synth type visuals I’ve been doing lately.
Also, I put a lot more work than I usually would on the drums. Special Thanks to @LinearLineman for pushing me to improve in this area!
Sorry to hear of the loss of a friend. What a great way to honor him. The song is very well done.

My beloved wife died in 2008. We had been married for 24 years. She was 52.
I’m not trying to hijack this thread. I just want to tell you something I learned that is a comfort to me. This may be something you already know.
It’s this: when a loved dies, their spirit continues to live in your heart. Their earthly shell is gone but the important things, the things that you loved about that person, are with you for the rest of your life.
Meager cheer, perhaps, but the thought brings me a morsel of contentment.
Sorry to hear about your friend. The track is a fitting tribute, I love the bass and the horns and the little riff that features throughout. Great job.
Lovely track @Edward_Alexander , I’m not sure how much words help at times like this but I am sure the creativity and pleasure you get from making your music will help a lot. My partner lost her brother to COVID last October so I have a feel for what you are going through. His name was also Wayne…
Thank you!
Thanks Richard!
Thank you for that! I believe it wholeheartedly! I’m sorry for your loss 🙏
Thanks Tony. It’s just crazy. Surreal.. the way the world is right now, and to see the effects ripple up close…
