Regret No. 1 - Mirack, Shockwave, Ripplemaker, and some tears…

A second track in two days is a bad idea - it will kill the listens for the first before they even start. But hey, the heart wants what the heart wants. On the positive side, my first ever original Mirack patch. Just don’t ask about what the regret is. I wouldn’t know where to start…

  • Very evocative, and I hope you don't mind me saying that it would fit in nicely on the "Blade Runner 2046" soundtrack. (Just learned that there's a contingent of voters on Amazon who complain about the Hans Zimmer/Ben Waflisch collaboration's "lack of tunes"! But I find that — and your piece — incredibly evocative.) Well done.

  • Yes this is fantastic!!!! Right up my Blade Runner alley. 😁.
@ExAsperis99 did you mean 2049? Or is that some PUN that I am missing? 😲

  • I entered this post thinking "What heresy could come from regret towards these awesome apps"
But then I listened to you amazing track and entered an entranced mode

Now off to listen the previous track too... Cheers

  • btw, regarding tears you mentioned in the song description. Hope you're ok. We are here for you

  • Nice one!

  • I wish I had this kind of regrets!! 😄

  • Mind truly blown... This is excellent!

  • You can’t figure the listening approaches here, Svetlovska. Post away and they will come... maybe.
This is one of your melodic conceptions, I think. A good direction. 👍👍🙏

@ExAsperis99 & @onerez : hey, I honestly couldn’t think of a nicer compliment than to suggest some of my mucking about gets anywhere near the vibe of Blade Runner, original flavour or with chopped nuts and a flake 2049 Edition, thank you! :)

I have always loved that dusty, nostalgia-for-a-future-that-never-happened vibe that the best original cyberpunk novels, (Neuromancer, Snowcrash) movies, and games evoked.

Case in point - the absolutely superb soundtrack to Deus Ex: Human Evolution by Michael McCann:

I liked it so much I bought it, even though I could just stream it…

@senhorlampada : thanks for your listen, and for your concern. I’m fine, actually, but thanks for noticing. When I trained as a counsellor a decade ago I learnt from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy the way what you feel and what you think are capable of influencing each other. I was feeling a mood of regret as I put the piece together, and that, I think, (see what I did there) led to a thought train centring on the mood of regret. I have now got off that train, and exited the station, with a veritable spring in my step…

@lasselu @rs2000 @ik2000 : thanks all for the listen, and those kind words. As I have maybe mentioned before, I’d be dancing like no one was watching even if no-one was, in fact, watching, but on the tree-falling-in-the-forest-with-no-one-to-hear-it principal, it surely seems a lot more fun to make these dins if a few people do bear witness. Makes it all seem worthwhile somehow:

@LinearLineman : accidentally melodic, perhaps ;) Definitely a conception of some sort. But what rough beast slouches toward Bethlehem to be born? Thanks for the listen, and the thumbs up :)

  • Beautiful, and Blade Runner yes my all time fav.

@Svetlovska Interesting stuff regarding Cognitive Behaviorial Therapy. Reminds me of some studies by my ex-boss.
Gonna read some stuff on the subject

And oooh... love Deus Ex soundtrack. Absolutely lovely.

Btw, I really replay this track a lot of times:

It's by Sascha Dikiciyan / Sonic Mayhem, one of Michael McCann's peers.
    All animoog excepct drums
Observation: Not on the ambient side, but hope you dig it
