+2. ISymphonic has some but you have to pick and choose.

  • Does Geoshred have a harp ?

Korg Module Pro has 2 harps in it's default strings folder. I recorded both straight and then ran them though a MixBox CS distortion unit (2nd first and 1st second). About 10-13 seconds of each... 2 straight and 2 distorted in all:

  • ThumbJam.

How about the sound of HAARP?
I wonder what sort of sounds that can make.

  • Splice is giving away a Harp sound pack for 24 hours: https://splice.com/sounds/sonic-collective/outsider-harping

  • I discovered the same video this week, and I have also spent the last two days doing experiments in sound design with harp sounds.

As @CracklePot has said, the harp included in Thumbjam sounds warm and delicious, so I used this.

Seeing your mileage with chaos compositions, @iOSTRAKON , I’m anger to listen what you can achieve experimenting with this  .

Yes, 3 harps which are nice. Note that since an update of the pack, 2 of the 3 harp instruments sound the same.

  • Thanks to all for the heads up // I might try the splice packs just to test this out. The video up above has a deftones meets sunn o))) type sound.

Has me very interested about some soundscape worlds I could create

  • Just posted this in the Piano Motifs thread but the use of Harp was prompted by this thread… I like the ThumbJam harp!

If you can afford it - Pianoteq Harp pack.

Xinematix has 3 harps in the Guzheng and Santoor pack.

Unlocking all Xinematix sample packs for one low price is a great deal IMO

    Thanks all. I'll investigate

  • Ok, I’ve got the baroque pack in BeatHawk..
    I’ve loaded eg Harp3 onto a pad…

Is there now a way to play that across all pitches using a midi keyboard or is that not really the way it’ll work…?

Sure - you can set up BeatHawk to handle MIDI input in different ways. One way is to trigger the pads by MIDI note input (from a MIDI keyboard or other source), or to a single pad and using different pitches, which is what you need. In your case, if you load the Harp sample to a single pad, say Pad 1, which is in the lower left of the 16 pad layout, that corresponds to MIDI Channel 1. Then it's just a matter of getting your MIDI keyboard to send the notes to BeatHawk on MIDI CH1, and configuring BeatHawk to send all MIDI input to Pad 1, and set your keyboard as a MIDI source and it will play the harp sample at different pitches based on the MIDI notes. The specific settings to do that are shown in a video that I created at the timestamp below:

Feel free to reply back with questions. I've spent a lot of time in BeatHawk and used it in a lot of different configuration.
