I looks like Apple is switching things around and the will now be only Apple Cards. It does not look good for Costco discount. 😭😭
What’s the difference?
They are not sold in Costco anymore. So no 100$ Card for 90$. On sale it was 80$ for the 100$ card.
Also from what I understand the cards let you buy anything in the Apple store including Apple devices.
US, Canada, and Australia don’t have iTunes gift cards any more. I remember they replaced them in US and I also believe Canada quite a while ago. You use them for anything including a new iPad. I don’t remember about Australia if it was at the same time or not. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204199
In Canada this happened last week only. We still had the old iTunes card system.
Darn, you’re right.
Apparently they were still selling the iTunes cards in Canada until a month ago. I checked US Costco site and they don’t have even the universal Apple gift card available. https://www.iphoneincanada.ca/news/costco-stops-selling-apple-itunes-gift-cards-in-canada/
I think the new card can be used for any kind of Apple purchase. Apps, music, movies and also for hardware available from the Apple Store.
Yeah, it was last year in the US for us. So many things Apple does are almost exactly the same in US and Canada, so I guess I assumed you guys had the universal card. It was a year ago they did the switch here. https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-launches-new-gift-card-for-everything-apple.2248081/
Yes that’s what i was saying.
Can you buy Apple Cards in US Costco ?
Maybe in the retail store. They aren’t on their online store. I haven’t been in Costco other than getting car gasoline since before the pandemic, so I don’t know if they have them in the store.
I’m still sitting on a sizeable amount of Costco Canada discounted 100$ iTunes that were bought at $79.99. It was a no brainer to buy at that price. Sad to see that go.
