Synthmaster 2 Desktop Preset IAP download count

Just picked up Synthmaster 2 for IOS. I showed 849 (850 total counting from zero) presets on initial app purchase. After registering it showed 949 (adding on 100 for registration). It says that once you buy the $4.99 Desktop preset pack it should be 1950 (or 1949 counting from zero), but it actually shows 1943. I've downloaded the IAP a few times now and that's the final number. I'm probably being a bit OCD, but should it actually be showing 1950 total presets or was that just a round up from 1943? Does anyone else show 1949 for their preset count? Also, I'm considering getting the $39 IAP that adds on 2000 presets. Is that IAP worth the cost and is it actually 2000 presets or some other roundup number. ;)

  • I have the same thing, but worse.. Mine is showing up to 951, with the Desktop Preset IAP purchased.

Try looking about here in the main SM2 thread. If you read along, the dev eventually responds with the exact numbers you seek.

Many thanks, I found it there. For anyone interested, here's the answer: "When you purchase "desktop presets upgrade" IAP OR register with your SynthMaster 2.9 desktop serial number you'd get this and the total number of factory presets would increase to 1944 (We're still waiting on another sound designer -Selcuk Ergen- to finish his work, when that's done, the total number would increase to around 2000)"

  • When you download the Desktop presets, if you happen to be in the Factory bank when you do this, click into another bank then back into the Factory bank to make sure it takes. My normal Factory bank was sitting around 849. I downloaded the Desktop presets bank and when it finished my Factory bank was showing around 1460 presets…exactly the same number as what shows in the All bank. I clicked into a different bank then back into Factory only to see the Factory patch number drop back to 849…. Apparently the download is working for some and not for others. Good luck.

  • Sorry , dumb question, "desktop" presets is available on iOS platform right? Nothing to do with having Synthmaster 2 on my laptop?

If you buy presets for the desktop version then you get them for free on your iOS installation. This does not work the other way around though, so you can’t purchase an expansion pack for iOS and use it on the desktop.

Ok, thanks. So if I don't have SM2 on my desktop, then these aren't presets I can add to my ipad, correct?

Thanks.. Seems the iOS expansions are a bit cheaper… Picked up the desktop version… and got all the factory presets for free on the iOS version..

    Pretty stunning stuff..

Yes, if you don’t have SM2 or the SM Player on the desktop then you can’t buy presets for the desktop. You can get the player for $9 which would then let you purchase individual presets (which would then work on your iOS SM2) but I think you need to have bought SM2 to purchase the preset bundle.

If you are thinking that you may want the full thing on desktop at some point then it may be best to get the desktop full bundle rather than pay for it on iOS and then again on desktop some time later. I originally got the full bundle for iOS and recently got a Mac so ended up just getting a selection of my favourite packs at $4 each rather than buying the full thing again.
