Thanks for all of that! I had set my AUM and all guitar apps to 48k and am using 48k mono OH IRS now. Seems to work well.

Regarding Thafknar… your amp sim’s output is probably set to stereo as you would do that in Nembrini and th-u standalone settings. And AUM outputs to stereo by default. So even though your guitar input is mono, Thafknar input is receiving stereo from the amp sim since it’s placed after the sim in the AUM chain. So Thafknar “tweak” parameters should have “input” set to either “stereo” or “mix”. Stereo and Mix sound virtually the same, but you may find you prefer one.

Also, the gain in Thafknar should be set to .4 - .7, not the default 1.0. Basically you want to set the Thafknar gain to volume match the amp sim when it wasn’t bypassed yet. You don’t want or need Thafknar to puff up the overall output, even if louder seems better. Thafknar should just be the vessel for the IR, not a signal boost.

  • This amp sim is fantastic!

  • Thanks again! With my Xtone Xsonic and Sony 7506s everything sounds good the way I have it setup now, the amp just smokes. Lots of tones in here.

And I love the Choptones XTC in THU as well.

  • A new demo:

  • I’m really excited about this app. I’ll do a demo as soon as I can but am busy working on a Rhino demo first. I felt like iOS wasn’t a serious platform for string twangers until Nembrini came along. I wish they’d make some more bass amps though!

  • Is this mainly a hard rock amp? I’m thinking of getting the Vox one on desktop as a nice single amp sim to get to know fully - mainly because that’s the one that I’d know suits my jangle, but there’s something about this one that makes me think it might be a touch better. I’ve already got the vox one on iPad and love it, maybe I should just demo this on desktop and see what my ears think, but thought I’d ask as well…

This is their most versatile amo, imo. Not just for hard rock. Has good cleans, good crunch. Very versatile.

Cunning plan to buy the BG on iOS to test made hilarious by the fact I’ve already got it on there 😂

Just been abc testing with those two and the sound master (which was my first nembrini love) and I really prefer the vox; I just want to keep playing it whereas the other two I’m happy to switch back…

  • Agreed with @espiegel123 the BG is the most versatile Nembrini amp sim to date (I bought the desktop version as well). Don't forget the Faceman (if you're searching for those clean Fender sounds which the Soundmaster lacked) and Overdrive Special - still playing with this one but it sounds very good and has a lot of great tones.

Ah cool, I don’t think I’ve trialled those so maybe a weekend pursuit for me to undertake in the search for the one true desktop amp 😁

Tbh I’ve got a shedload of the amplitube gear on there from the group buy, but the Vox keeps pulling me in more than anything, and I’m trying to get myself into that single minded/focused use of gear at the moment rather than every option under the sun 🌞
