Full Video Walkthrough Here:

MIDIculous 4.0 for the iPad starts off as an amazing teaching and learning tool. For musicians, it can just act as a high quality GM Sound player, having the ability to use AUv3 plugins for the different tracks. As a learning tool, you can load in audio, MIDI, video, and our special LMS and LMV files that contain video, audio, and/or MIDI, so you can see the teacher and the notes at the same time. You can also change the pitch and speed of audio and video files as well as create loop points and save your own sessions. No other software does this for audio, midi, and video and at the same time.

  • @GospelMusicians Suggest you change "not" to "now" in the first sentence. Big difference.

Must say @GospelMusicians this looks like a great app for those learning to play !

  • Yes, this looks like a nice app. I am always warmly welcoming GM apps as they are oriented to live playing and impro.
As posted in the other tread, I am just curious to know if it's possible to stream live audio (while playing) between a piano teacher and its student if they both wear a headphone. Any idea ?

  • Congrats on the app release!

And I’m going to take this moment to publicly admit I have been calling your AppStore company “MIDI-licious” for years until today. Yes, I realize it is completely MIDIculous to get it wrong for so long.

No this is not possible. We are not aware of any iPad apps that can actually do web streaming.

It was between MIDiculous or MIDIlicious and a friend an I both settled on MIDiculous.

  • Hey @GospelMusicians
Can this app create a score of what I am playing and then allow me to print that off or share via email/SMS etc?

I don’t think so. The purpose of this app is primarily on chord notation and keyboard monitoring.
But I know some other apps can do that (can’t remember the names, sorry).

  • Am outstanding addition to the midi enabled learning machine! Thanks for great work.

It would be swell if each instrument channel had an option to forward midi to a destination with channel reroute option, and ability to get back to hosted plug-ins window without reloading plugin. I may be overlooking something here.

Oh and I what about a layout in fourths like Push or Launnchpad or better yet 8x25 like Linnstrument.
    Thanks always for quality apps

If you use an app like Zoom or Skype along MIDIculous, I think you can simply share your screen (seems to work on iOS) with your teacher or student, thus « web streaming ». Am I wrong ? Only the audio could be a problem…

@GospelMusicians Let me ask you .. can I use your full unlocked app in GarageBand as AUv3?
If yes, is it possible to use other AUv3 instruments inside of your app as I can do with standalone MIDIculous app or I will be limited to embedded GM sounds?

If you load an audio unit in a host, it won’t be able to host any audio units itself. It a limitation from Apple so you’d just get the GM sounds

  • @Fingolfinzz Thank you. So I assume I can't use e.g. PurePiano along with MIDICulous in one GarageBand or any other DAW track.
