Overloud THU - SRV Tone
Hello,
new here and greetings to all.
I am after recreating some SRV tones on Overloud. My setup is a strat, kingtone duellist pedal fed into an audient Sono interface and into my laptop with Overloud software.
Can someone share some ideas. I know SRV used the fender vibratone amp and the dumble...not sure if there are any rigs with these amps.
All in all and being new with this software I wanted to have some indication of SRV fans out there and how you create your tones with Overloud.
Look forward for any assistance.
Thanks to all.

From everything I’ve read, Stevie did use a Vibratone — but it’s a rotating speaker cabinet — not an amp. Fender and Leslie were bought by CBS in the '60s and executives decided to market a more touring musician-friendly Leslie cabinet under the Fender name. Stevie did use one

You probably have that confused with the Fender Vibroverb amp, which Stevie used two to gig with for many years:

Although the pair were his early workhorses, Stevie used lots of other amps as well. His Dumbles were custom built Steel String Singers that replaced the 6L6 tubes with 6550s and generated 150 watts. He often paired Fenders with Marshalls including the a1967 Major Lead, and 4140 Town and Country.
Other amps he used included, a Soldano SLO 100, a Fender Bassman, and even a Peavy Roadmaster.

this is really helpful...i will look into this webpage and also try to look for these amps if available in overloud software.
hopefully someone will also chime in with any setup they already have in this software.
thank you so much!
You bet!
I think a Vibroverb would be ideal, but I haven’t seen any in the the THU store.
There are a couple Dumble-like amps, though:
This one is in the components section of the store:

The other can be found in the Rigs section:

I own and love the Dang (as do many guitarists here on the forum) it is discussed a little here:

There’s a mention there of a Dang video demo by @flo26. He is our resident guitar god, and you can hear how it sounds here:

Don’t forget pedals when approaching his tone. A Tube Screamer is a must, of course, but I’m certain others here have important contributions to add as well.
Here’s an SRV preset from th-u. This is from “artist pack #1”, one of the many preset files you can download monthly from the Overloud site, it just loads the presets file directly into the app forever. TH-U also has many other preset banks for their sims and rigs already in the app, I remember seeing more “SRV” style presets all over. But this is the first I found and could probably get you close. Pay attention to the knobs on all the components, you can make that chain from scratch, no need to download preset file…
Thanks so much for the kind words😊😊,even if there is no god on this forum😉.
Also, thanks a lot for promoting my you tube channel.
Cheers!

You have earned it, Sir!
🙏🏻
really appreciate this help...where do i search for the free SRV packages please?
also the dang tone is superb and @flo26...the little wing cover...one of the reasons I got me a strat...and you have a subscriber on youtube as well!
Many,many thanks man!
Glad you liked "little wing"🙏.
Cheers!
I managed to find an IR for Fender Twin 73 and would like to use this in Overloud. Do I need to pair this with an amp from the software or should I just import the IR into the software. How would I control EQ and volume as I am not sure about this please. I found this from Shift Line and would like to experiment a bit with it in getting accustomed of how to use IRs.
Soldano seems also to be really good.
Is it correct to say that I need to find an amp with high end and then use my kingtone duellist pedal to add that volume boost and a bit of gain in trying to get near to the SRV tone please?
Thanks a lot.
What would be the best amp in THU for a Telecaster to play country/bluegrass music?
Something like:
