Launchpad type midi controller app?
Used to have a launchpad. Beatmaker 3 has the sort of thing I’m looking for built in but it’s a headache to set up due to limitations of the app. Could set something up in lemur but that wouldn’t have scales

Get a stiff drink of your choice and some snacks, then dig into these two threads.
Both are awesome apps by awesome devs that are active here. The ordering here is non-biased alphabetical as both are worth owning.
Loopy Pro has good integration
Can you give me a bit more info on how Atom 2 could be a grid controller? I'm kind of always in the market for this type of thing and I wasn't aware of this feature.
Do you want to just use it as a pure midi controller or do you want to trigger clips or audio?
Because as a pure MIDI controller, maybe something like TouchOSC could help. For triggering MIDI clips, LK Matrix is probably the most capable tool.
GridInstrument would be my recommendation if you're looking something with scale mode. Here it is in Slideover mode, and demonstrated with Garageband.
If you do end up getting a Launchpad, here are a few apps you should check.
That said, I’ll be honest and say that as much as I like the Launchpad, I’ve had more uses out of my Launchkey. Both are really good, though I like the all in one appeal of the Launchkey mk3.
One really great controller app that has been forgotten is TB MIDI stuff!
There you can setup all kind of different UI like pad mode, keyboard/multiply keyboards etc etc - fuckin’ great app!
@seonnthaproducer got me onto GridInstrument and I use it with every DAW/groovebox now when not near a physical keyboard. Transformed the way I use Gadget and NS2 when away from the desk as both of those in particular benefit from not being tied to their onscreen keyboards. Most recently I have been using it in split screen mode with LK hosted in AudioBus which is a good combo (and makes me wish more apps supported split screen!). Would be useful to be able to make the pads smaller to access a greater range of notes at a time but that is a minor gripe.
I finally got round to unlocking all the iaps in LK in their recent sale. It makes it so much better. You’ve got drum pads, keyboard, chorder and faders that record midi directly into LK pads. It’s super easy to route LK tracks to AUM making a fast satisfying workflow, very similar to how I use the Launchpad Mk3 with LK.
I’m gonna make a demo video of this at some point.
