I thought it was kind of brave to attempt recording without the click
Ha yeah, I thought it was on, you wouldn't believe I started out as a drummer :-)

Don't we all?
Nice video and tutorial, Doug. Thank you!
Great video, Doug. Well explained.
Your voice sounds better day after day.
Thanks!
+1 @fjcblanco
One thing you could do that is slightly more mobile is upload each part to soundcloud as private and then download it through an audiobus or ACP app. I usually use midi synth and the yamaha arp app works as well.
The yamaha app has a great interface for doing this actually.
Thank you Doug. Still insane that the boys over there are swimming against the tide of audiocopy history. A change is going to come. Surely. But ifunbox is, as advertised, fun and simple and I have no doubt that many folks who take a look at the video will end up thanking you (if not actually in person for the introduction to the program, far beyond this cute way of getting stuff in and out beneath the noses of the ill-informed IMaschine guards...
Thanks for the video, Doug!
Can I ask a question about the app in general? Supposing this method is convenient enough and I could get the sounds off of the app, is it worth it? In other words does iMaschine offer enough unique sounds or features to make it preferable over the other popular synths, drum machines, etc?
Its a very good app, but using iFunbox gives you much more flexability over many apps, and of course lets you drop wav files from you desktop into any app you like, but I've always liked iMaschine, great sounds and super easy workflow. However we do already have many great Drum Machines that intergrate AB, IAA, Audioshare etc.
Or consider this way, you build maybe ten tracks in iMaschine and maybe a few more in say Amen Generator, another brilliant but other than filesharing a closed app. Its actually quicker to set up iFunbox and drop all the files in one hit
Can someone post a link to iFunbox? I search for it but all I find is some other app by the same name that does photo filters. Not seeing the free app that does file mgmt....
@StormJH1 - http://www.i-funbox.com/
It's a desktop app, not iOS, if that's what you were thinking.
Oh. That would explain a lot. Thanks still for the link.
I guess I was confused because the primary thing people hate about iTunes file sharing versus Dropbox, ACP, or whatever is that you need a corded connection to use it. Not saying it's that big of a deal, but this workaround requires the same thing but with a different program.
iFunbox does support wireless connect to iPad over wifi - providing you have previously enabled wifi syncing for this "iDevice" in iTunes.
The workarounds arent mobile...
u need to have a laptop and an ios device in front of u.
4 dropbox u obviously need internet and u need to trust dropbox ...

iTunes on a PC is just a complete mess. It's slow. Soooo slow. Every little thing you do inside iTunes takes forever. It just gives people a headache. I hear it's better over in Mac land though.
Another thing is that iTunes only gives you access to the iTunes filesharing folder, and nothing else. iFunbox gives you access to all the apps folder structures, and allows you to browse and handle all the files fast and fluently (except the ones in the main app/dir, not even devs can alter files inside there from their own app), like your typical file browser/handler.
iTunes isn't much better on the Mac. This whole iFunbox solution is really cumbersome and so unnecessary. N.I. doesn't have to add full DAW functionality to iMaschine, just leave in the basics such as audio copy/paste, core midi and Audiobus. I just watched the Oscilab video earlier and was thinking how great it would be to use it as a rhythm generator input to iMaschine. I hate when companies limit our creative freedom by crippling their products. Yet their promotional videos would have us believe that they are at the cutting edge of creative expression. Not!
Thanks, Doug! This makes for a simple workaround.
