You are right.
Review done!
The text and controls on iPhone 7+ are ridiculously small (unreadable). Larger text and controls would surely be a better use of available space. Maybe different colours or contrasting colours would help. Will have a play later on iPad. Thanks for the free gift @Audiomodern
Yeah, very generous of Audiomodern to make this free, it's great!
Thanks @Audiomodern
Big fan of all your apps and their ethos of controlled chaos, keep up the great work!
@Audiomodern
Thank you @Audiomodern ! I can see this being a regular part of my toolkit along with the equally brilliant Filterstep. Just had to make a track with it… Well, with them both, actually…
Here is my tutorial video for Gatelab, I cover pretty much everything you need to know to get started.
Hope you enjoy the video.
Someone has figured how to use the two MIDI channels to control external CC parameters in AUM?
It doesn’t include a MIDI AUv3 unit, and after configuring the two MIDI channels inside the AUv3 unit loaded in the effect slot, I can’t see this in the MIDI matrix of AUM.
@thesoundtestroom I’d just like to say thank you for the great video. It all makes perfects sense now.
iPad Pro 2018 12.9 iPadOS 14.8 and I cannot see it in AUM.
It can only be loaded into an effect slot...
So here's a tip for anyone who is like me, if you delete the app because you're wondering if a reinstall might fix it and you find out why it actually wasn't showing up, then do remember to reinstall the app before trying to find it again.
Sat and played Yonacs Galilleo through this for a while last night. Such a great tool.
😂🤟
Sorry if this has been covered but how do you automate changing the preset over time ie to create a ‘song mode’
I think we've all been there, I know I have
Don't think it has a true "song mode" but the infinity symbol on the top right hand side will make the pattern change each x times. The x number you can put in just to the right of the infinity button.
I wanted more control. Ie have a preset that was say 50% then a preset that was mostly blank and toggle between the two. Think possibly doable by sending it CC somehow?
I think preset selection is available in the MIDI settings. Pres the cog icon in the top right hand corner of the app.
Have yet to sunk into it but here's a short demo:
Lovin’ Gatelab Audiomoderns best yet.
Here’s a quick Jam
I don't think so. I asked a developer @Audiomodern a few months ago at a Youtube live stream of Chordjam about timing problems because it was getting on my nerves that Playbeat goes out of sync with long jams. He said there is no problem, everything would be fine. I would therefore rather expect nothing.
Good.
Thanks @Audiomodern for this free app ! It looks/sounds stunning…
Just a quick bug report : the app crashes as soon as I hit the “Bluetooth midi” button.
This plugin just too good i had to say. But anyone tried having MIDI out data in AUv3 ?
Standalone is works but without ableton link is limited.
Gatelab is great but in Cubasis 3 it always forgets the state when loading the project. Do you also have this in other hosts? I usually save my settings as a preset but still have to manually switch to that preset after project load. This is really annoying. Is it on yor buglist @Audiomodern ?
Has anyone been able to send MIDI CC to GateLab to control parameters? I have it in an effects node in AUM but it doesn't show up in the MIDI routing matrix in AUM.
I’d love it if there were more presets. It can really work wonders on a piece though. I used it on a muddy sounding synth bass line and it added clarity and punch.
@baccharis , you won’t see Gatelab in the Midi Routing Matrix that you access through the orange snake thing at the top right of AUM.
You need to click on the orange mixer icon at the top left of the Gatelab window. This will open up the Midi Controls window where you assign your midi source and then the assignments as per example attached screenshot. Hope this helps…
