iOS bug with usb hub and USB sound card
I have some trouble with audio engine disconnecting which my iPad pro 2020 and USB-C hub.
It took me som times to understand why my USB sound get disconnected randomly.
I try several sound card (RME UCX, AudioConnect ) the problem happen at any time.
The I realize it only happen in certain condition.
When the battery is charged at 100% the audio card is disconnected periodically.
If I disconnect the charger from the HUb or if the IPad is not charged at 100% everything work normally.
The problem exist since iOS 14 and is still present in iOS 15
Anyone experience such problem or have a clue?
Thanks

I use to have a similar issue with the Audient Evo 4 on iPadOS 14 iPad Pro 2018.
It would disconnect or change input gain randomly during recording.
I sent the interface back, got a behringer umc22hd and never had the issue again.
I try with two different soundcards and have the same problem.
Will try with a third.
But maybe the problem come the USB-c hub.
I will try another one two.
Thanks for the info.
@Jeezs Hello, I had this situation on-stage just couple hours ago. I had this setup: iPad Pro 2020 (11"), Unitek USB-C hub with PD, connected to another Unitek USB 3.1 hub, and during the set iPad was disconnected, in the last second I saw on-screen info that MIDI is disconnected (I'm using Keystage app for live gigging). What next, I saw that the power was cutted off. Reconnecting did nothing. Now, I'm searching for the suspect. My doubts are goin to the USB-C hub clearly. It never happens to me before, but now I used 3 new pieces: Audient ID-4, and those two Unitek hubs. Please let me know if you resolved yours problem. I let you know about my progress. That can be useful for all iOS live gigging Musicians.
Cheers
This is why I’d never want to use an iPad for live work (if I ever played live!). I love it, but between this, and the disappearing AU bug, I could never trust it 100%.
