So, this was 100% improvised on the spot for both tracks, however the part that starts at 1:30 was indeed something I hade been practicing earlier in the day - full disclosure!
When I decided to do an improv recording though, I decided to try and throw that in. The tempo was a little faster than I was expecting (and faster than what I was practicing with earlier!) so I struggled a little and started slipping around 1:37 thru 1:41ish. I think I fully recovered after that.
Just thinking out loud here at work while I wait for these guys to finish up…
