Gossam

Following @Edward_Alexander’s lead, I removed the SWAM horns from this track with a much better result. Less is more… almost always.

  • Wow... amazing, my friend.
Didn't listen to the version with horns. But this is just too perfect

  • Absolutely beautiful!

I read something a while back, don't remember where TTYTT, but it stuck with me; and I know I don't need to tell you, being the seasoned musician and recording artist that you are, but for everyone else who might be reading this, and those willing to learn, it was something along the lines of "The rests are just as important as the notes, and sometimes even more so".

This falls in line with the "Less is more" music composition strategy that I believe in wholeheartedly.

I had a thought, or an epiphany the other night that our collective minds, as humans, (musicians and non-musicians alike - our brains) are like giant subtractive synthesizers, where all music is already there! That includes music that's already been published, music from days gone by, and YES, music from the future; things we've yet to hear and discover. All of it already exists in our collective mind. We've just been figuring out how to build the tools we need to shape it into what we want, "subtracting" everything we don't.

  • I really enjoyed that one

  • Thanks for the praise @senhorlampada @Edward_Alexander and @Lorichs. Much appreciated!
