I’m interested to know the answer, I was hoping for an iOS15 fix because AUM landscape mode has some issues on iPhone since iOS14. Time for a fix??! @j_liljedahl

  • @Janosax i was on a much older ios / iphone 8 and landscape worked great. an app would just flip and extend, not everything is stuck in normal mode, which is a major pain in the butt. some plugins arent even working.

This is for my phone. not my ipad, ipad everything is still good to go

On my 7 Plus and SE 2016 since iOS14 AUM landscape mode don’t work properly, and it’s not about your current bug. It’s about nodes buttons and menus jumping when you tap on them (it’s like if they want to « escape » from your fingers!!). Perhaps not all iPhone models are concerned, but it was confirmed by @j_liljedahl when I reported the issue, and he said it was too much work for a fix release, and was related to iOS. I use AUM so much on iPhone (and iPad, like most people here), can’t really complain but it’s less usable on iPhone for now.

  • fyi,,, im an idiot. I had rotation lock on

I've seen this some times too. I think it's related to a "trick" I'm using in AUM to have one layer of the UI react to device rotation (AUv3 windows, etc) while the base UI does not. There's nothing saying this trick shouldn't work, but it also means it probably is a configuration not well tested. However, I'd rather spend time to make a proper iphone-landscape mode for AUM instead of trying (and probably failing) to work around the current issue.

Thanks for details Jonatan  Is there hope for a such proper iPhone landscape mode this year?? Waiting for this for a such long time, I know demand is not the highest but I think more and more iOS musicians use the iPhone as pocket iPad on the go as they’re more and more capable. I really hope to see this one day!!! 🤞 🍻

There's always hope! :) But I know I seldom (never) can live up to deadlines so I can't promise anything.

  • AUM on my iPhone 14 Max Pro with iOS 16.5 doesn't rotate to landscape, and this is the only thread I could find related to that issue. Is it intended, or a bug? AUv3s that are open will rotate to landscape, but the AUM mixer/nodes interface stays locked into portrait regardless.

    That's the way it's designed.

That’s just how AUM works on iPhone.

  • That’s too bad on iPhone Pro Max which typically has iPad style layout (such as split navigation views) usually reserved for larger devices, unlike smaller resolution iPhones. Makes it unusable mounted on a stand
