WildKat + Vinnie Sage

Wildkat is the guitar which I’m getting to know
and Vinnie Sage is the 32 step input sequencer that
I put together for the LP X using only modules in Drambo.

There is a guitar solo.

Have a listen.

  • Super guitar sound. It’s a real guitar, I assume.

    Thank you. 🙏🏾

Yeah, definitely a really guitar. 😏
It came back from the luthier on Friday.
I’ve done some tweaking to it and now it’s practice time.

For those who like to know such things,
the guitar effects are Brusfri, Tonestack Pro, Rhino beta
and Jax !Make Louder all hosted in Drambo.
The same thing can be achieved in AUM et al.

  • Nice! So in this 32 step sequencer I’m assuming you’re using some sampler modules or Flexi samplers to sequence the Guitar samples?

  • Got a pic of that sexy WildKat?

The guitar sample you hear playing in the beginning
is a loop I recorded to listen to the tone of the guitar,
I liked the tone so I decided to hit record for the whole
    practice session.

In regards to the 32 step sequencer side of things,
the LP X is being used to sequence the drums
instead of using the iPad screen.
The layout is quite straight forward.
Two custom drum grids divided in two.
The top half of drum grid one is for snare or claps,
the bottle half is for the kick drm.
The top half of drum grid two is for a chord sample,
which I didn’t use in this piece and the bottom
    half is for hihats.

Oh cool, you have the Bigsby model. Nice!

  • @Edward_Alexander

    Yup, it is very nice.
The strings are little bit heavier than I'm used to
which is a good thing now that I'm getting back
    up to performance level.
The tone is quite warm and round when clean and
you can hear the tone when the rest of the effects kick in.

I got it recently, the old school way by simply walking into
guitar shops and playing the guitars on offer.

Several guitar shops and a trek across London later
and I returned to the first shop where I had played this one.

    A lot of fun.

  • @Gravitas - I never heard of the Wildkat guitar before, so I looked it up. As I might have guessed, it is a hollow body with that warm, round Wes Montgomery sound. However, when you started riffing, it reminded me of one of my favorite players - Allan Holdsworth. Excellent guitar work! I look forward to more.

I hadn't heard of a WildKat myself before getting this one.
I actually didn't even care, the moment I played it
    my immediate emotional response was
    'Yup, coming home with me'.
When it got home that's when I looked it up.

As I might have guessed, it is a hollow body with that warm, round Wes Montgomery sound.

Yeah, I really like the sound and feel of hollow and semi hollow bodied guitars.
I will eventually get a solid body again but right now I am so happy.

    That's good company.

Excellent guitar work! I look forward to more.

Thank you very much, there will be more for sure.
