    Note that we're discussing AUv3 IR cabs in another thread: Thafknar, Impulsation, THU

    What's the difference between an IR Cab loader and an IR Reverb loader like AltSpace?

    For example, are all Reverb loaders able to model cabinets as well, but not vice versa?

    Is there a difference? A cabinet is just a very small acoustic space. I haven't used Thafknar for guitar cabs, but I've used it to load IRs of larger spaces.

    There’s no difference as far as I’m aware. It’s just a matter of where the “ping” was recorded to simulate how the space resonates.

    THAFKNAR and IMPULSATION are IR reverb apps . They aren't specifically IR cab apps.

    In THU, the IR loading is done in a cabinet emulation module which might not be up to loading reverbs...which tend to be longer.

    Did anyone ever test guitar cab IRs in this to see if they work properly? If so, can it load stereo IRs? As far as I know, the Strymon Iridium and maybe a couple other pieces of hardware were the only things that could handle Ownhammer’s true stereo IRs when they were first released. Wondering if that’s changed.

    Thanks to anyone who’s tried and reports back. I’m too lazy right now to try myself.

    Btw, what OH call true stereo IRS are not really true stereo if one means stereo to stereo as those require 4 channels of IR for a stereo input.

    THAFKNAR ia also able to handle OH stereo IRs. FWIW, I’ve not found them to be preferable to using the mono IRs.
