I've listened to this song a lot. And I mean a LOT. Without a doubt my favorite Dire Straits song and one of the most beautiful songs I can think of. Maybe you are going for a different vibe which is fine. My familiarity with what is to me a stunning aural and guitar playing experience probably got in the way of my ability to enjoy this. Great guitar playing as always.
