  • I found the following thread within this forum, which may be a hint (or something to keep in mind) if a midi controller is chosen for use with iOS.

Using the above thread as a reference, I searched the manual for "Null" and found only the LX+ series among nektar's GXP, GX, P, T, and LX+. Whether other companies' products have such differences, I do not know.
(As for OP's last post on October 21, this post of mine may not be the answer to OP's question.)

I seem to be on the same hunt. I've been playing piano for around a year and its going well. This autumn I'm going on a cruise for 35 nights and don't want to miss that time practicing as I have an exam coming up before Xmas. So decided to take a portable keyboard with me, but which one?

Sounds like you may want an actual keyboard instrument, not just a MIDI keyboard which does not produce sound. There's a huge range of portable "pianos", ranging from cheap to $1000s. Are you looking for an instrument or a MIDI keyboard?

Is your exam next December, or are we in a time warp here?

  • Jeremy See has a Youtube channel that is dedicated towards reviews of portable keyboard arrangers, portable digital pianos, digital pianos meant to be parked in your home (less portable), etc.

He does have a couple of high-end arrangers like Yamaha Genos, but he seems to focus mostly on the products going for about $1000 or less.
