Mono midi app?

Is there some kind of midi app that would allow me to play an organ app (Pocket Organ or Galileo) as mono instead of poly?

  • @stiltz Do you already have AU MIDI processors like Streambyter, Mozaic or Drambo? This very simple Drambo patch works, but it only follows the last pressed key, which may not be the mono behavior you want:

  • If you have Mozaic there's: https://patchstorage.com/force-monophonic/ by the mighty @_ki.

  • I have Polythemus, but I thought it was just used to load multiple instances of mono to achieve poly. Is it able to load one instance of a poly app and play it as mono, and if so, how?

Polythemus doesn't load apps, it only routes midi to apps. But I think I understand what you're asking.

To change poly to mono, you just set Polyphemus to one voice using the # Voices dial. You can then choose among the different ways to allocate that note when overlapping notes come in (Next Free, Round Robin, Keep Lowest, Keep Highest, Random, and Random not same).

If you open the app in standalone mode you'll be able to check out the manual.

  • Thank you so much for your help, wim! I’m gonna try this tonight.
