Digistix2 - Loading patterns independently from kit and using triplets questions

Q1: The DS2 manual says songs and patterns are saved independently of the currently selected drum kits. Yet, when I load a song it changes the kit. Is there a way to load pattern data only?

I guess I can save my current preferred kit, then open song with pattern data and then re-open my preferred kit again?

Q2: Can someone please explain how triplets work in DS2. It sounds more like ratcheting to me. Is possible to place a single hit on a triplet grid?

From the manual…

Loading and Saving Patterns & Songs

Songs and patterns are saved independently of the currently selected drum kits. You can save or load pattern data by pressing the hamburger menu above the pattern edit grid and selecting 'Save Song' from the menu. You should always save a song prior to exiting the app. The song state is saved as part of the saved state or session only when hosted as an AUv3 and not as a standalone app so please do not rely on this just in case the host app crashes. You can also erase songs using the 'Delete Song' option in this menu.

  • Someone help this guy out.

  • I've found that triplets are more like ratcheting as you describe - dividing a single beat into 3 equal parts. The timing is odd and I don't find it intuitive so I've not spent a lot of time with it, but I'll try to dig into the triplet feature a bit more in the coming days to see what I can come up with.
