Stumbled Upon Apps & Resources
I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now, so here it goes… there used to be a website and an app called Stumble Upon that was really cool and helped you find random/obscure/useful websites based off certain topics, like music, etc… the company got sold and changed names to something… I can’t recall the new one since it wasn’t as effective or useful as the original site.
However, on that note, I often stumble upon apps I’ve never seen or heard of before. Sometimes they turn out to be something really cool, useful, entertaining, and/or fun. I wanted to start a thread to share some of these random app discoveries and encourage forum members to do the same. It doesn’t have to be music specifically, it could be creative in some way, or a useful tool, or even a rare game if you like. No real rules, just share any obscure apps that you might happen to “stumble upon” and really like. Bonus points if they are free or free with IAPS that aren’t needed. Paid is ok too.
I’ll start it off with…
Art/Graphics
Thisissand - free - IAPs but not necessary. I’ve been somewhat addicted to this app the last week. It’s like that colored sand art you often find at fairs, festivals. It’s extremely fun, and can create some useful art/graphics. Pic one color, or a pallet, change speed of color change, even have it automatically drop sand by using device gyroscope. Really cool, I’ve created some great pieces with it. You can also see what others have done, and share in the apps internal network. Cheers!

Photo/Graphics
DestroyPix - free - let’s you do some amazing glitch art to your photos. Use your finger to draw corruption on any image, and get some great results. Was $1.99 but has been FREE for awhile now.

Wow... Stumble Upon was awesome... thanks for reminding me of it
Just took a peek now and it's called Mix
@Poppadocrock : thanks for those excellent suggestions. And special thanks to @BITCRUSHER : Just one shot of my Neutron on the floor with Oblique, after a bit of tweaking in Phonto https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/phonto-text-on-photos/id438429273 rather spookily gave me this:
Kind of instant Giger …
The only problem now is that I have to write a piece called The Shining Trapezohedron… Damn you, fantasy album covers…![:) :)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)

Spirograph app, it is free. I loved Spirographs as a kid and this app satisfies that nostalgia.
Yea mix. That’s it. I tried it a few times after it first changed over and it wasn’t nearly as useful. Haven’t tried it in a year or 2 though maybe it’s been improved since then.
This looks cool.
Your welcome. Wanted to create a place for members to share interesting finds or lesser know apps they really like.
2 great ones. Cheers.
Found this one a few months back.

To give that true “Stumble Upon” feel, I updated this thread to also include Useful Resources. Basically anything out there that’s preferably free or inexpensive that provides good info or is a helpful web tool to aide others in their music journey. From the basics for a beginner, to the advanced business and industry info for a professional musician, and everything in between. I’m thinking of things like websites, web tools, web resources, particularly great sources of info, blogs, forums, web instruments, web courses, free ebooks, free Apple Books, web programs, and web services, etc.. lol.
For example. All free.

Also accompanying app…

Humming Note is a free app that turns voice/audio into midi. I tested it, and if you sing quite loud, it isn’t too shabby. Does have some tracking features though.

I’ll probably have to update the thread title…
Just stumbled upon an interesting app…
Nerny is free. It is a YouTube player that lets you select two points and loop them. Great for learning a song or screen recording. Cheers!
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/nerny/id1537573670
I watch YouTube tutorials through PlaySections £1.79 Make many loops which can be named and the links can be put in folders. Loops have tempo slider up or down.
Good to know. I am aware of the app but didn’t know exactly what features it had, Cheers.
Another app I came across recently…
Syncopate is free. It’s a simple beat sequencer, you can randomize everything, and choose from approximately 10 sounds for each lane. Unfortunately it’s completely standalone with no midi or anything. But it’s free and ok for a quick play.

Nernys really cool, thanks Popps!
