Droneo missing from apps list

edited March 2013 in General App Discussion

Droneo was one of the first apps to climb on the bus but for some reason it's gone missing from the apps page.

Just wanted to make sure it didn't get lost in shuffle.

Comments

  • It didn't.

  • It disappeared on the day it was released from the website apps list.

  • It's not yet fully compatible. Henry is working on it.

The dev appears to have dropped off the Internet during a house move and doesn't seem to have resurfaced yet. He mentioned he had a bug fix to release, but it hasn't happened yet.

  • My newer version is better now, but still not good enough for the list.

  • Welcome back...

  • Just what is droneo?

    Holy crap!!!!
How did I miss this...what an awesome app....had to search for iPhone apps since it's only on iPhone. Just hear the sound in this video too !!! ( crappy video but the sounds are great)

Check the other dev videos on YouTube also.
What a great deep droning sound! ..picking it up right now and hope that the AB issues are resolved ...passing these freqs via AUFX apps or Tornado would sound so cool

  • Most of this devs apps are pretty cool. Only A is worth a look too.

  • I have Droneo on my iPad, and have no problems with AB. Great drone app.

  • Hi guys, I made a bit of a mistake putting it back on the list already since the current version on the app store isn't compatible with anything but Audioshare yet. But I'm holding in my hands a beta version of Droneo (which I actually like quite a bit) which works nicely with loopy and other Audiobus enabled outputs.

I'm certain Henry is going to submit the new version soon.

  • So I bought the current version and notice some flaky Audiobus issues.
The sound drops when I switch between apps in the chain and the transport panel in the app is non responsive .
Also, I wish there was a Stop or kill button to stop it from generating notes...I have managed to give myself some nausea and headache while fiddling with some of the frequencies !!!
I am hoping the dev drops in again to read this ...would also love a small keyboard or pitch strip/XY pad to change the notes and maybe some better scale support.

Otherwise it's really cool and you can generate some mean drony and headache inducing stuff with it !!!!

  • This looks great - are there any similar Apps on the Bus? DR-OM looks a bit to synthy, and I have way too many of those already!

  • Hi Folks! It's safe to use Droneo and Audiobus now!

For those new to Droneo - check out the sample patches and you can also import voices in their alphanumeric form off of the clipboard, (you can paste them into blogs, notes, email, etc.) , and also directly using the Droneo Voices webpage
    http://www.jhhl.net/iPhone/Droneo/Voices/
You can also hand build patches and paste them in that way for extra precision.

Sorry no keyboard in the offing - it's mainly for providing juicy evolving timbres and as a tool for exploring aspects of intonation and music theory.

Droneo may not make it to the iPad (it's pretty venerable, first in the store in 2009), but its successor, which opens up a lot of the internals and will use more modern features of iOS to help crank up the polyphony and interoperability, will definitely be universal and of course be able to talk to your excellent apps.

  • I am a huge fan of Droneo; however, since iOS8, I cannot use it in Audiobus nor in Inter-App. I emailed Henry, and he said he was working on it, but I have not seen any progress in months. Anyone have any suggestions/recommendation/alternative drones similar to Droneo that I could use with Audiobus? Thanks!

  • @charliejazz5 you might want to give spacevibe a try.

  • Spacevibes is interesting but nowhere near as versatile as Droneo

  • I love Drone FX but it's not AB-compatible and hasn't been updated for a long time.

  • I downloaded my iPhone copy and am able to use it via AB on my iOS 7.1 pad. Never thought of doing this before, so enjoying an evening of Turnado mangled drone related shenanigans

Droneo has great timbers/tambers and it evolves. It's a srutibox +. Also by the same dev. Ellipsynth!!!! A mini-ish samplr.

I love dr ohm! My only grievance is its in a fixed key, but still well worth .99

  • DrOhm serious ++

  • Today I tried Droneo and Audiobus: :'(

I hope the developer has it in themselves to update Audiobus code in Droneo. I love the app.

I know he's been promising an update for awhile now. A long while now, so I've kind of lost hope.

Yeah... after 2-3 years, you gotta give up!

  • I've got an iPhone and iPad, so if I need to I can just run it from one to another. But still...
