SOLVED -How to install other Korg Gadgets?

I’m trying to install Vancouver and I have no idea how to install it. I’ve gone into Module and there’s no Vancouver and in Gadget, it only has a price and a preview button. What am I missing?

  • Tap on the Price to purchase the IAP...

Vancouver only works inside the "walled garden" that is Gadget. There are a few Korg Synths that work as IAA Standalone apps and also have the side effect of being accessible in Gadget (iWaveStation, Module, etc) but many Gadgets must be purchased inside Gadget and used in that context... they can be controlled via an external MIDI Sequencer but Gadget is a standalone app and doesn't fit into any AUv3 or IAA host app.

Many won't use it for just this constraint. Some just live inside the Walled Garden and
make really kick ass EDM tracks.

We all wait to see what Korg will do... a couple AUv3 options dropped in some app updates but it's been pretty quite. They love ROI and have a huge corporation to feed.
Our $10 purchases barely move the needle so we get little attention here from Korg.

Tapping the price doesn’t do anything. I see a restore purchases in the top left and in the bottom right is a price but it’s not a button.

McD - yes I am aware that these Gadgets only within Korg Gadget.

Sorry. What version of IOS are you running? Maybe Gadget needs an update to function properly.
You threw me off with the mention of Korg Module. What Gadgets are exposed in Module?
I know that Module exposes it's wares in 5 different Gadgets. Doug, @thesoundtestroom, explains:

    1. Salzburg (Pianos)
    2. Firenze (Clarinet)
    3. Montreal (Pianos)
    4. Alexandria (Organs)
    5. Glasgow (Synths)

IOS 15.0.2. I know that some gadgets are installed via module but there is no install in module either. It’s like the IAP buttons are broken for some of the gadgets. Some have a buy button and others have a price but on the ones with a price, there’s no obvious way to purchase them.

  • What device? Maybe it’s a display problem on a smaller device? When you select a gadget you don’t own it should bring up a description and a sound preview. At the very bottom-right there should be a Buy: . Tapping that bottom area should bring up the purchase dialog.

If it’s a small device then maybe try switching to portrait mode to see if that exposes the Buy option.

  • It’s an IPad Pro 10.5”. Nothing is cut off.

I think when "Restore" shows up it means you have paid for it and the "Restore" link should cause a new download at no cost. But I also recall that buying an IAP makes it hide the price forevermore, so, I am confused by your image. You show "Restore" and a price.
I've never seen that combo in Korg apps I have purchased or have yet to purchase.

  • Wait - I’m an idiot. The “button” is below the window.

    Sorry to waste your time

  • Ug. I feel so stupid

  • The only other thing I can think of is In-App purchases being disabled.

That used to be in a very obvious place, but is now ridiculously buried. First you have to turn on Settings > Screen Time. Details here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204396

Have you ever had the scenario where you know you purchased an IAP but it's only offering to re-purchase and after you think "Fuck it" and hit Buy it finally admits "You already own this. Do you want to download it for free?"

The Crudebytes IAPs all do this... and my favorite Crudebyte IAO costs $54. Every time I sweat getting re-charged. It's a 20GB download that takes hours and when it fails I start over from byte #1. My iPad
only has 128GB and I just set it to allow downloads and delete least recently used apps so I've just switched to another piano app. But my iPhone with 512 MB always has it loaded and thankfully it's a
Universal app. Gadget and Module tend to disappear as well for space needs but Module gets used a lot.
Module makes an IOS device a useful "workstation" for keyboard players.

  • Vancouver is one cool instrument - enjoy!
