Is there a way to record any audio (YouTube, podcasts etc) to AUM?
Just wondering

Directly, for any app? No.
Tube AU and Web AU are AUv3 plugins that work for some things.
An audio interface with loopback capability will work for anything.
One of these and an older model iPhone (with headphone jack) might help. Just think of the iPhone as an external hardware device and play for the appropriate hardware audio interface of use the iPad headphone jack for input. Amaze your friends!

Web Audio- this is what I use does most video sites, also web radio, podcasts etc…and YouTube 100% works, the video doesn’t play, but the audio comes through the channel in AUM for you to do what ever with… record to audioshare, a looper, add fix, whatever. I love this app.

Tube AU - I don’t have, but will work.
There’s always the old screen record, import video to Koala, load it in to Aum and funk shit up.

maybe this ?
Glad to see this thread.
Don’t know if that’s going to answer my wish to mix in audio from other apps. My church band uses “Planning Center” for practicing, and it would be nice to pipe that music in real-time to AUM.
I can't tell from the product page whether it's web based or an app. How specifically do you use it for band practice?
Interesting idea, never thought of this before, cheers!
This is a good app to play internet radio stations into AUM:

The iPad has line in!?!?!?
If you look at the cable ends you'll see they are TRRS and the output of one end gets routed to the input on the other end like the jacks on headphone with a physical boom mic.

Come to think of it... I use the min-cable with an adapter into my iRg HD guitar audio interface generally or a mini to 2 headed stereo out pair into my Presonus or my Zoom U-22. The point is you can use the iPhone as an audio source for the iPad and work around Apple's restrictions on the source material.
