Atom 2 vs Helium as piano roll in Cubasis
I’m thinking of picking one of these up for use simply as a MIDI editor within Cubasis 3 (in place of its native piano roll which is a bit annoying to use).
It’s simply for fixing mistakes and copying/pasting parts.
Atom 2 is currently on sale and I wondered if there is any significant difference between the two for this purpose?
Don’t need any of that fancy stuff like clip-launching. Just a really easy to use interface than works well in Cubasis.

Mmmm.. probably get lots of different opinions but in Cubasis i'd put up with Cubasis piano roll over another piano roll app. They all have their pro's and cons, but inside a DAW I'd stick to the DAW piano roll. The value for me in the piano roll apps is for use in AUM. My pick there is Helium and LK. But I re-iterate they ALL have annoying features as well as cool ones. Thats my 2 cents worth.
I have both but never use Atom 2 because it still doesn't support CC editing. So if you want to be able to edit CC data there's only one choice - Helium. If you don't need this particular feature there's probably not much in it for your purposes but to me the ability to edit CC data is (or should be) core functionality for a MIDI sequencer.
If Helium was the only choice then I wouldn't enjoy using Imaginando LK so much 😉
