The Gibson parallels are certainly what I thought of first. I think studio one will stick around as it has a lot of followers, but for me it doesn’t work that well on my 2012 mbp. I tried to make it my main daw but I guess Logic just works for me so need to fight it or change it. The mastering side of studio one is great though, I do like using that and I just sign up for a month of sphere when I need to master a project.

  • If Fender treat their custodianship of presonus the same way Gibson treat their acquisitions, RIP presonus.

I have yet to hear of Fender treating their acquisitions the way Gibson treated theirs. Nowhere close to Gibson's level of evil anyway.

Could be Fender is just better at damage control or silencing would-be critics. >:)

  • Yes…I think is bad news too…

  • Free StudioOne with every purchase?
Does this mean I wont be able to return my fender without calling the company and getting software unregistered from my fender account?

  • From a business perspective this makes sense for Fender as it fills a bunch of holes. They sell lots of guitars and bass. People need a way to connect those to digital devices. Fender is also not really in the software game to date. Fender's marketing department will be busy.

  • Ah goddamn. I sure hope they don’t fuck this up, Studio One is such a good daw.
