eSPi (Drum Machine) by Louis Teboul - Free

https://apps.apple.com/app/id1592268308

Description:

Create sampled beats the original 90's way using eSPi.
The SP-1200 was the primary tool of many legendary hip-hop beatmakers and house music producers in the 90's.
It is well known for its gritty sound and simple but effective workflow.

Now with eSPi you get to experience this machine right at your fingertips, on your iPad.
Import samples or record them yourself, chop them up, pitch them and sequence them within the app.

Features include multiple filters, effects, a compressor, and most importantly the best emulation of the gritty signature sound produced by the SP-1200 when pitching samples up & down.

eSPi is also available on Mac, Linux & PC.

  • It seems that it's only a demo version for this other app from the same developer.

There are options that aren't working, like the sampling one, saying that you need to make a purchase.

Or maybe, the developer is planning to integrate IAPs in this free version, for the missing options.

The problem with this app is a lot of features just don’t work. Nothing to do with IAP’s or anything like that. They just don’t work. For instance applying reverb in the Per Pad FX does nothing. It works in the Mac version. If this app was up to the level of quality and functionality that we are accustomed to in the iOS music app world I’d be all over it. Guess I’ll just have to save up for this: https://shop.rossum-electro.com/products/sp-1200

Low Hiss / Dev is losing his mind. Even this version has bad latency issues. Trigger a pad/Delayed sound. Thanks Low Hiss for taking my money for the 1st version you released few weeks ago and now you have the nerve to release this version and can only load my own samples via IAP. That is criminal.
Not just that but never ever received a reply from his so called “support email”

  • I’ll give this “demo” a spin and wait for the s*** to settle…

  • For low hiss. Outta Here

I got a refund on this. I already paid for the Mac version which still has issues even after a couple of years. :/

Yes, it's a strange marketing technique. Two apps with the same base name and identical description, one Free and one US$12.99. At a minimum, the Free app description should indicate what features are omitted, with a plug for the paid version. Needs clarification to be taken seriously.
