Drambo: UI Customization

Not a super important ask, but I wonder if UI customization is on Drambo’s roadmap. I see a lot of users creating cool stuff. It would be fun if they could change the color scheme and maybe use images to customize the buttons and backgrounds of their creations. Does anyone know if this is in the pipeline?

UI customization would also make Drambo’s environment more interesting to look at having modules that look different!

That would be awesome! I love this idea of visual customization!

    I’ll tag @giku_beepstreet

  • Yep. Zoom In/size adjustment would be also nice.

+1 for zoom. Things get a little tricky when used as an auv3 hosted in NS2 on iPhone.

Have you tried Accessibility–>Zoom? It can be tricky, but might help.

No - didn’t even occur to me. I’ll give it a go next chance I have. Many thanks 👍

  • That would be awesome.
It would give a much better over view when jamming.
I like to use the same colors for the instruments in AUM ( bass: red, drums: orange ect. )
It could be really nice to be able to do the same thing in Drambo.

    I concur, good point

  • I would imagine a Drambo Marketplace is a vision as well. A place where Drambo makers could sell their creations.

Does Drambo have a robust sample engine…maybe they could something akin to Kontakt market

    Great idea!

  • I'd totally buy a Hello Kitty UI theme pack for Drambo.

There are so many brilliant racks, but they’re all limited to the same UI elements: layer mixers, N-Switches, sliders, knobs, and switches. These are generally enough, but they have some rigid constraints which make creating pleasing UIs a challenge.

These are the most common limitations I run up against in creating intuitive rack interfaces:

-Color support for Knobs, Switches, Sliders (so that one N-1 switch has blue buttons to differentiate it from another N-1 switch at a glance).
    -Resizing of knobs
-Removing generic labeling (such as ‘value’ beneath the slider)
-Define value ranges and increments (if you use a knob to control cutoff frequency, it doesn’t display HZ, for example. Or another knob won’t display increments such as 1-16 for a retrig module)
-Free spacing of knobs and switches
-The ability to hide knobs within a module when in compact view. (For when you only need access to a single parameter of a given module, but the module ends up dominating the compact view).
    -Horizontal sliders
-A ‘sections’ function with shading or color support
-A ‘expand rack’ function that operates like ‘expand AU’ does
-Mixers in compact view can be 3x high, or 4x high. They automatically resize which throws things off, especially if you’ve got functions grouped by 4s.

I'd be up for larger, bigger, more finger friendly ... everything

In Drambo. Best to be clear on that point. :D
