Korg NanoKey & Microkey Air Bluetooth MIDI glitched note problems

edited November 2021 in Other

I bought the Korg nanoKey Studio along with my iPad Pro 2021 earlier this year. After an initial problem with 'glitchy notes' in Cubasis over Bluetooth MIDI (where notes would be dropped, or get stuck etc.), an update to Cubasis was released, which fixed everything, and things have been fine ever since.

I recently decided to buy the MicroKey Air 37 to compliment the nanoKey Studio, and immediately encountered the exact same issue (play 4 notes in sequence for example, 1 might play, the next doesn't sound at all, then the last 2 play together - that sort of thing) The following day, it suddenly worked perfectly, both standalone and within Cubasis (my DAW of choice) - I thought the issue must have been a 'one off'.

Now, it seems no matter what I do, I have this 'glitchy notes' issue with either device, 100% of the time, which makes playing the keyboards practically impossible. I've tried updating firmware, updating software to iOS 15.1, restarting etc. with no luck. The problem is not specific to Cubasis, it's the same for standalone synths using Bluetooth MIDI.

Anyone else have this issue? Or this same hardware with no Bluetooth issues? Or any possible suggestions?! In the meantime I'll be sticking to a USB cable connection...

That’s odd. I5 was fine one day, then not the next… huh? I’ll give it a test when I get a chance, but haven’t noticed anything.

There is an app by @blueveek Midi tools that has an Au inside that is specifically to help with stuck notes from certain hardware and controllers.

Thanks Poppadocrock, I'll have a look into Midi Tools, to see if that reveals anything.

It’s actually a useful app, it has a bunch of AU’s packed inside. BF sales are just around the corner too.

I’m pretty sure there’s a Mozaic script that helps with stuck notes as well I think it’s called the Dedupe.
