Live Rig for iOS COMING SOON.
You asked, Nembrini Audio delivered.
Live Rig will soon be available to iPad and iPhone users and it'll be a free download.
Comments
Will this be a guitar only or will it host auv3s and be used as a keyboard rig?
Will it support 3rd party AU plugins or is this a Nembrini only thing?
I like it. The more of these 'whole audio chain' type apps the better, in my opinion.
Oh my goodness. Please let it come with a tuner. And obviously be AU.
The desktop version seems to host only NA plugins, it would be awesome if this one could host other AU as well.
If it’s a free download, I think this is highly unlikely.
Also, AU cannot host AU
Just what I was thinking. Is this gonna be auv3?. Wonder how it hosts plugins, even Nembrinis own.
Say whaaaaaat? Holy cow. Awesome
I think it exists to sell more Nembrini stuff, not their competitors', so I am guessing "no".
I imagine that it is a host to make it easier to setup rigs and switch between them for guitarists to use live...though I could be wrong.
Not only is there a tuner coming, but also an IR loader that comes with a graphic eq, studio quality compressor, a power amp if one is using a preamp only, and other candy.
Since the Nembrini amps don’t have their own visual in/out metering, now plugging those into the live rig gives you that.
There’s also apparently a pro version coming with extensive midi control. If the live rig layout becomes one of those GigRig G2 type bypass switcher masterpieces, then this will be one amazing way to glue it all together into a giant guitar app. I wonder how this all will differ from arranging all this stuff in AUM as we’re accustomed to. But for the Nembrini fans this is huge, makes me want to use all of the fx again.
👌
Yeah, makes sense. I think I have enough of their stuff to fill it up.
And I suppose one could always run 3rd party stuff before or after anyway. I’m also wondering how much all of this is going to weigh in AUM.
I'm not sure this will even run in AUM. Maybe just standalone...?
Ah right, yeah I was just re-reading the thread. Hmm
Looks awesome for a quick set up when I just want to play some guitar right away. I hope they include a tuner or make a tuner app for it
Tuner coming
WHEN
Stay tuned.
Nembrini fuckin shreds, hell yes.
It’s a standalone AUv3 host, at least this free version is. In AUM the live rig shows up in IAA but not in AUv3. In AUM an instance of live rig IAA loaded with 12 Nembrini plugins seems to work really well. The IR loader app, which will also be released at some point, is auv3. It looks awesome. So the live rig has global in/out metering and room for 12 plugins, an IR loader and tuner coming, and all the chains can be saved and recalled.
There are two live rig hosts for desktop, a free one and one you pay for. So on iOS I wouldn’t rule out AUv3 version in the future, and being able to host third party Auv3s, though honestly a Nembrini live rig hosting something like fab filter seems far fetched and risky. More likely an expanded pro version with good midi implementation and deeper features for legit live use.
Awesome
Strong dad-joke game.
The only way I can picture an auv3 version of this, which would be awesome, is if this “rig” app actually self-contained all the different plugins code. Or is there another way?. Since an auv3 can’t host other auv3’s it either contains the code or it somehow “pulls it” from the standalone or IAA, which given the sandbox restrictions in iOS doesn’t seem likely. So maybe it’s got all the diff amp sims, effects and so on in the rig app and it checks your purchases to see what’s activated or not.
To answer my own question: An email from Nembrini says this will be available December 1.
