Will FL Studio type piano roll come to Cubasis 3?
Hello everyone.
There are a few options to be able to that (like Atom Piano Roll/2) but Cubasis 3 still hasn’t got this feature.
I need to look at scale charts to be able to see the allowed notes in a special scale while I type a melody. It obvious that this situation makes things difficult.
Will FL studio type (or Atom Piano Roll 2) type piano roll feature come to Cubasis 3 in near future? Any ideas or thoughts about that?

So, to be clear, what you’re really asking is whether or not Cubasis piano roll will ever have a scale folding feature where only the notes that are in-scale are shown? If that’s what you mean, then editing the thread title might be a good idea.
There are dozens of differences between FL Studio’s piano roll and Cubasis. Asking the question the way you did is pretty confusing.
@LFS is the right one to ask.
Can’t you use KB-1 to achieve this?
I think it's the piano roll, not just the keyboard, that's the issue here. If I read it right, the OP is asking for the piano roll to only show notes of the scale as an aid when entering notes directly on the piano roll.
If I recall correctly scale support for both the on-screen keyboard and piano-roll editor has been requested (or at least mentioned here in AB forum and over at Cubasis forum) a long time a go so maybe we'll get it as part of the ever expanding feature-set with some features being more long-over than others...
Recording and Editing are two different issues. I can easily 'record' all notes in any key/scale using either my LPPro3 or thru apps such as KB-1 or Rozeta Scaler but when editing the recorded notes it gets a bit trickier as there is no indication of which notes are in the chosen key/scale.
Even thought GarageBand lacks a lot of midi-editing features it gets the Key/Scale thing right together with it's non-destructive Quantize which is something I wish Cubasis had as well...(Another GarageBand feature that I really like is its adaptive grid making it easier to 'snap' notes into place and when zooming in the resolution increases automatically no need to mess with menu options).
My guess is that we'll see a Cubasis 3.x update before the end of the years, who knows maybe even a Black Friday sale with a few new IAPs
Cheers!
