Strange app purchase behaviour?? Way to get an app on trial basis??

So I finally caved in and bought Sampletron in the sale.
When I went to purchase it there were insufficient funds in my account so it was declined.
Nevertheless the app downloaded and is fully functional.
I deleted to the app to see if this was a mistake but, lo and behold, I can still download it from the App Store.
I doubt I genuinely have this app for free but can’t see how I can re-purchase using a different payment method.
Perhaps I just need to wait a day or so??
Anyone come across this before?
Might be quite a nifty way to get an app on a trial basis…

Give it a good trial and when you loose it you'll be better informed on where it was something you
reached for repeatedly. I think the historical value of the Mellotron is important but the defects
are hardly desirable for me. I can add the tape and electronic circuit details with other cheaper apps.
But I bought SampleTron based on price and the value of the IK Multimedia FX apps... when wrapped in
a FAC Alteza "warm blanket" it sounds so nice. And I have to love the range of sounds they include and the ability to quickly change presets and dial in something just perfect for any atmosphere.

I just recently joined this subreddit and am quite surprised about how bad ingame purchases are confronted. As someone who spent 2000+€ on League of Legends and several thousand on mobile games, I don't really understand the hate. What I do understand is abusive behaviour of some creator, I played a game where events happened, you could get 90 shards in the event, but oooh bad luck, looks like you need 100 to unlock the hero. THIS I truly despite and hate so much, the event was useless without buying the 10 other shards with real money. I get the hate, for stuff like this. But if I do like a game and use a lot of time on it, I don't mind spending money on it. Often simply because I appreciate playing it or because I want some specific bonuses, but which I am only willing to pay because I do like the game a lot.

@TimRussell well let's just hope this isn't the outcome for you, no one wants to be paying for apps in Shards...

  • Yes, the historical value of the Mellotron is crucial, and defects can be present there. As an alternate for gaming android users use the builds of kodi however that is not possible with the apple tv due to the tight security.
