Help completing my Ikmultimedia group buy

I and hope everyone is doing well as we wind down another year. I got in on the group buy and need some recommendations for remaining available free downloads.

This is what I have so far:

T-RackS 5 Comprexxor
T-RackS EQ PG
T-RackS 5 Tape Machine 99
T-RackS 5 Space Delay
MODO BASS
T-RackS 5 Tape Machine 440
T-RackS 5 Tape Machine 24
Spaceport 77
AmpliTube 5
SampleTron 2
MixBox
T-RackS 5
SampleTank 4
Syntronik Deluxe
ARC System 3
X-TIME
X-VIBE
X-SPACE

ADDED:

Stealth Limiter - I love the demos really great sound

Sunset Reverb - Wasn't really awed by it but it feels like one of those plugins when no other reverb will work, it will.

Orchestral Percussion
Cinematic Percusion

I have 4
3 open slots kind of hard at this point, this was definitely worth it. Not really interested in their loop libraries and have tons of eq plugins. Any hidden gems I may not be aware of ?
Thanks !

Comments

  • MODO Drums. I find them better in some respects compared to GarageBand drums (in terms of customization), but in other aspects they fall short (no intelligent drummers, just pre-programmed patterns). Even with the weaknesses, I'd still recommend them.

  • T-RackS Leslie? The remaining X-thing? B-3X? Saturator-X? Sunset Sound?

  • @NeuM thanks ! Modo drums for some reason didn’t move me but will listen again to the demos
@qryss wasnt too sure about saturator-x but another addition to the palette cant hurt also added sunset reverb thanks !

  • Hammond B-3X!

Some the Amplitube Collections like Satriani, Brian May, Fender, Mesa, Slash, Hendrix?

Sampletank Intruments like LA Confidential, Alternate Keys, London Grooves, SynthWave, Electromagnetik, Cinekinetik.

I have the same problem. Still have 16 more choices to pick!

What's confusing for me is how much stuff is already included in Amplitube 5 and Sampletank 4.

    Sunset Sound Studio Reverb
T-RackS Leslie or AmpliTube Leslie (amps and cabs are separate in AT)
    Stealth Limiter
    Master EQ 432

    AT5 fender/orange collections

    Miroslav philharmonik CE
    orchestral percussion
    Cinematic percussion
    Shipwreck piano

Maybe Lurssen mastering console if you want quick no nonsense ‘make-mix-louder’ results (or a reference to try and improve on with T-racks)

Also, depending on how you use the processors, it might be worth getting more T-Racks stuff:

    White 2A Leveling Amplifier
    Precision Comp/Limiter
    EQP-1A Vintage Tube Program Equalizer
    British Channel
    Bus Compressor
    EQ 73
    White Channel

Whilst there are duplicates in MixBox, having them as T-Racks processors is good too and means you can use them within processing chains with the T-Racks Suite plugin or standalone app for mastering. It’s good to have them all in one plugin for ‘mastering’.

Or get T/Racks SE (which isn’t cut down) to get some additional modules using only one slot.

  • I’ve been umming and ahhing over the tape machine ones, which to get, if any. I’ve had the 440 recommended twice, and the 80 once, I’m struggling to hear the difference though 😆

It is hard to tell the difference! They’re very subtle.

Except when they’re not. You can push them hard on the input and get nice tape compression which is very audible.

Also there are so many variables with the different tape emulations and the way you want to use it.

Logically speaking use the 80 for ‘pristine mastering’ type uses and the 440 for tracking. The 99 is good for pushing into and getting unsubtle tape sounds. But you could use any one of them for any of the other tasks without issues.

They’re heavy on the CPU though. Best used for mixing once you bounce down all the tracks.

Ha cripes, maybe the three then 😁

I’m gonna demo them a bit more today and push them, I mostly use either sketch cassette or wires for creative tape style stuff now, they’re not subtle though 😆

That’s the best way. Don’t trust my ears! I’m sure I’ve lost a few frequencies over the years.

Also if you just want that kind of analogue style tape saturation effect, T-Racks saturation X does a pretty good job of warming things up nicely.

The tape machines are good for that subtle hard-to-pin-down-exactly-what-they’re-doing glue. I have used the old Logic amp sim for this kind of thing for years (it’s still there under legacy hidden behind the option key) — set it to be DI and it just adds a little bit of saturation glue without being overpowering. I figure I’ve got the right amount if I only notice it when it’s switched off.

You can also get similar results (ie glue not the actual sound) running busses through EQs such as the pultec clone without actually EQing. This also works with the native Logic vintage EQs.

And for any T-Racks stuff you run out of slots for, there might be an analog obsession free/donationware equivalent to fill in the gaps.

    Sunset Sound Studio Reverb

Thanks for suggesting the Sunset Sound Studio Reverb, klownshed !

Didn’t realize that one was part of the group buy!

Now if I could just figure out... Is the Leslie the same in Amplitube, T-RackS, and Hammond B3X? Does one need to buy all three?

  • I went for the t-racks Leslie as it’s usable outside amplitube and exactly the same as far as I know…

Im quoting myself here as I managed to get that completely backwards. The 80 is a multitrack machine, the 440 a stereo master 2 track machine.

    The 99 is a 2 track, the 24 a multi-track

But they work fine either way around :-)

Ironically the "Pristine Matering" preset is in the 80 which is what probably confused me. It doesn't take much these days

I’m really struggling to get into these, the 440 does seem to give a nice finish, maybe the 99 for other stuff… I do like saturation x, use it often in mixbox and amplitube, tempted to sacrifice a tape machine to have the t-racks version as a solo option…

Sunset reverb is lovely, the spaces are just so natural sounding, and the plates very playful…

  • @Lady_App_titude yeah had to be careful not to duplicate already included plugins in TRacks
