Au octave and pitch whammy effects. ….any?
i love octave pedals and digitech whammy pedals. however i tried tonestack it’s ok but didn’t really sound like I had hoped . just curious what else is out there?
Comments
I tried the one by 4Pockets (they have a new name now)
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pitch-shifter-auv3-plugin/id1440468366?ign-mpt=uo=4
it's this one. It didn't see to track exceptionally well....and the output sound seemed flakey (maybe LoFi is a more positive word). The octave up sounds something like a synth rather than my instrument (violin) an octave higher.
just an FYI....
Bias fx has one. AmpliTube has one also but I haven’t tried theirs
Yonac Tonestack pro has a whammy and it’s auv3 : https://apps.apple.com/app/id1529842791?mt=8
There’s also Overloud TH-U that has a whammy : https://apps.apple.com/us/app/overloud-thu/id1478394489
both Tonestack pro and TH-U whammy is an IAP inside the plugin.
You could cc a pitch bend if it’s exposed. I wish more mod wheels and pit bends were exposed.
me too
can you just use the whammy and not the amp or cabinet? i’m looking to have the whammy and/or octave pedal before a Nembrini amp for the signal chain.
I just picked up Nembrini’s Quinta for iOS and Mac just for the octave effect. It is nice.
Quinta, May want to also look at Eventide MicroPitch or Harry Gohs (VirSyn) Harmony Eight
nicev
👍🏻
Yes
I find Quinta has terrible latency and is very unreliable. It must be the only disappointing Nembrini app I own. I wish it worked better cos it sounds great.
Well crap. I haven’t tried it out yet. I should have said it SOUNDED nice. Sorry. Maybe the desktop version works better. Those were my BF purchases…
got that whammy pedal and it’s working quite nicely. thanks for the recommendation
lol you literally just said you didn’t like how tonestack’s sounded and like half the suggestions here were for tonestack 😆
I bet there’s a way to get fabfilter to do it haha
That’s really cool will have to check it out
that true. i dont like tonestacks sound. i still don’t
I bought the whammy pedal in TH-U’s overload. maybe a typed out the wrong thing earlier. TH-U is the one i like. i bought the metal amp pack as well and i’m really liking it so far. i mix that with nembrini amps in AUM and can get some great tones. very cool!
Yeah I mix nembrini and th-u stuff a lot. I used to like tonestack but not anymore. A couple bass amp/cab combos are worth keeping around and the brassmaster / mutron pedals and that’s about it imo
When I, a few years ago, got the M-Audio Oxygen Pro I also got the Exp.Pedal thinking I got the Sustain pedal (!).
Now I tried so many things (..and nagged on Wim and Ed.S who tried to help, to no avail (thanks again though)) but could not make a Wah pedal out of it.
Not long ago I got hold of Midi Expression and it certainly was the medicine for this problem. Works like a charm and it's sooo sensitive. This was for (anyone outside U.S) a very expensive solution .... and of course (thanks Mr fucking Murphy) my since long forgotten order of the Mave(?) Chocolate Foot Controller all of a sudden shows up and it has a jack for the Exp. Pedal as well. Could have saved me a 100$ showing up earlier BUT I think MIDI Expression thingy works a bit better and the companion app is awesome (desktop and iOS).
Edit: I forgot why I wrote in the first place: Yonac is useless as the motion is very glitchy and noisy. So is Nembrini but, it a lot bettter than Yonac. Overlouds TH-U is absolutely awesome for the wah pedal and I'm thinking although it got a bit expensive for me, it's nothing compared to a good hardware wah. So much fun.
agreed thu whammy pedal is awesome for pitch effects as well. true nothing digital ,as far as wah, whammy, and fuzz pedals are concerned. None of those seem to capture what their hardware ancestors do, but thu is the closest ive seen yet.
